This week we are climbing a Mountain, Why? Tummy time is an essential aspect of development from birth because it leads onto crawling. If the crawling stage is avoided babies may encounter learning difficulties when they go to school, no matter how intelligent they are. - Even if babies have passed the crawling stage, they can still benefit from spending time on their tummies.

This week at Baby Sensory we are off on a journey to cushion mountain! All that climbing will be sure to give your baby a good workout and increase physical strength and brain power. Added bonuses include a huge boost to the immune system and a good night’s sleep!

The new Summer Term is ready to book online!!!!!! Yay so exciting. https://www.babysensory.com/epping/ The summer term will be running for 5 weeks, the whole of July. Over the Summer term we will be having a Teddy Bears Picnic, dancing to some Rock n Roll, speaking French with French week and much much more!!! For the Summer Term I am so excited to be launching a new venue and a new day! We will now be running on Wednesdays at Grange Farm Center, Chigwell http://www.grangefa...rmcentre.co.uk/
Over August there will be 3 exciting Summer Sizzlers; Beach Party (the week of the 12th Aug) Water Splash (the week of the 19th Aug) AND Space Adventure (the week of the 27th Aug)! Please note that 26th August is a bank Holiday Monday so there will be no Monday session that week. All are available for booking now too. The Summer Sizzlers are one off sessions, but you can book all of them if you’re not going away or just one or two. It’s totally your choice.

Jelly on a plate! Jelly on a Plate! Wibble Wobble…. The babies simply adored our Baby Sensory messy play activity and the learning benefits of tactical play with something like jelly are extensive. A wonderful material for learning about density, temperature, consistency and scent! Talking to baby about the properties of jelly extends this to a valuable language lesson as well! Don't forget there are other great ways to test out messy play with baby - spaghetti and corn flour, as shown in class.

Holding a crayon strengthens hand muscles and encourages fine finger movements, which lead on to fine precision skills. Helping babies to scribble is one way of promoting and extending development. So get snuggled up with your baby and colour.

Making use of household items to create Treasure Baskets or Discovery Boxes is a great way to stimulate curiosity and encourage play. The experience is enhanced when materials are discussed to create a rich language opportunity and develop vocabulary. Did any of our home-made ideas for play strike a chord?
