Eeeek I am so excited as we will be partying our way through the week to celebrate Baby Sensory South Harrow's 2nd Birthday Whoop Whoop!!
Party hats and dancing shoes at the ready, with action songs and peekaboo games plus a baby disco - we're going to have an A-M-A-Z-I-N-G time at Baby Sensory this week. ūüėĀ

We were definitely feeling the heat this week at Baby Sensory South Harrow! ‚ėÄÔłŹ We had an absolute blast - from salsa dancing, Irish spinning ribbons and a very lively Jack in the Box puppet show. A whole host of colours, sights, smells and sounds to stimulate our babies senses!

‚≠źÔłŹTop Tip Tuesday! ‚≠źÔłŹ
This week's top tip is all about Signing. Did you know that babies develop hand-eye coordination long before they can talk? This is because the motor areas of the brain develop faster than the speech centres. Signing strengthens the motor pathways, which ultimately increases brain power.ūü߆
Signing also enhances visual development and social skills. Best of all, it encourages communication and fun interactions between the parent and the baby, which increas...es the bond between them.
It's never to early (or late) to start signing with your baby and here are some tips by Dr Lin Day to get you on your way...
ūüíõ Introduce simple signs such as ‚Äėeat‚Äô, ‚Äėmilk‚Äô and ‚Äėbed‚Äô from birth.
ūüíö Introduce signs that have a special meaning such as ‚Äėteddy‚Äô, ‚Äėblanket‚Äô, ‚Äėcuddle‚Äô, ‚Äėnappy‚Äô from birth.
ūüíõ Use one sign per sentence.
ūüíö Be consistent in the signs that you use and repeat them regularly.
ūüíõ Speak slowly and clearly
ūüíö Always follow your baby‚Äôs lead.
ūüíõ Do not get your baby to perform signs on demand.
ūüíö Be patient and relaxed about signing.
ūüíõ Use signs alongside familiar rhymes and songs.
ūüíö Always praise your baby for any signing attempts made.
ūüíõ Don‚Äôt let signing take priority over normal speech.
ūüíö Be generous with your facial expressions.

Over the next few weeks I'll be sharing some our top tips to aid in your baby's development as recommended by our expert founder Dr Lin Day.
Today we are focusing on - rolling over. Rolling is an important developmental milestone for babies and is the starting point for balance skills, including sitting up and crawling. 3 ways to encourage this are:
... ūüíö Tummy Time! It is important to allow plenty of tummy time during supervised waking hours. It will help strengthen your baby's upper body muscles in preparation for rolling over.
ūüíõ Sing "Rock-a-bye-baby" and gently rock your baby before rolling them over.
ūüíö Play "Peek-a-boo" on one side of your baby to encourage baby to roll towards you.
