If you want shit service a nice variety of whiskey and the occasional bit of abuse from the bar staff this is your place, always good for a swift whiskey shot and a red stripe

I love this little dive. Has the best music selection in Leeds and the decor is perfect. Quieter during the week but really busy late on weekends as it’s open very late but I enjoy drinking there in both atmospheres :) nice simple drinks choice. It’s not a fancy pants bar so don’t expect fancy cocktails with fucking jets on them or the staff to address you as“sir”. It’s grungy, humble and real and that’s why I love it!!

I hate this pub, and have intricate plans for the murder of those who first introduced me to it. It's a hellhole full of awesome music, incense, rum, regret and far too much dancing ... and somehow I seem to find myself here every weekend. Never change.

How I've not stumbled on this place before is baffling. Ventured in at the weekend to see a few bands. Nice, cosy setup in the bar, friendly bar staff, decent selection of booze, reasonably priced for a city centre venue. The downstairs live room is perfect for alternative bands, especially new bands wanting to break in to the live circuit. Holds around 50 at most, will feel like you are playing to a full room even with half that many in. I'll certainly be looking to play here myself. It's a basic live setup, but perfect for a room of that size and the sound was good.

A place where no judgements are cast and everyone can just be and chat and hang out. So Facebook said I should review Bad Apples after my recent trip there...





Where do I start? At about 10pm on a Friday evening in April, I enter what I thought was a high quality dive bar in Leeds. Upon entering I was served (and I put that lightly) by this overly hairy barman (who looked like he should be in some kind of Black Metal Band... probably a drummer because he could barely count to 4 suggested I was In the wrong bar when I asked for a cocktail. But recommends multiple different whiskey shots that got me way over the drink-drive limit.



I got lost on the way to the loos and and found somebody who had clearly been waiting to be served long before me and still didn't have a beer.... at this point the owners had ignored him that long that he'd not only become part of the furniture, he'd become part of the floor. (Apparently, the bar tenders knew his name but preferred knowing his was in his place)



On returning (from my unfortunate toilet adventure) to what I thought was a safe place in the middle of the bar infront of some politely queueing English men, I was made to move to a dark, candle lit corner because they needed to serve the people they actually knew...



The main thing they had going for them was this bloke with a beans hat (Matt or Mark I think his name was... he was rather abrupt in his nature) who when I requested, gave me multiple single measures of Jack daniels. Which actually improved my evening....





In conclusion: I noted they were recently award the prestigious award of "Worst Bar in Leeds"... by the Leeds bar Awards... of which they rightly deserve.





I left at 5am, to the tune of "easy like a Sunday morning" (which I sung between the hours of 6am and 11:59am on Sunday before I believed it wa bad luck.



But finally.... Bad Apples.... they take pride in being the worst bar in Leeds. In words I've heard from Various folk who have tasted the sweet nectar that this hell hole serve... "they play rock music, serve alcohol at great prices... expect nothing more." And that is 100% true...



0.69/5.... would drink there again.... (just don't ask for song requests.... they're bar staff, not DJs!)

I'm disappointed at the way I was treated, simply out for trying to hand a spare drink in at the bar! Disgusting! Terrible bar I don't recommend it!
