we happened upon this place near our hotel, the Radissun Blu on Mercer st, the food was EXCELLENT and great customer service! they even have us a sample of a cocktail with our meal!

What a fabulous venue! The food, the staff, the service, is just out of this world. We have no hesitation in returning to what has to be one of the most convivial restaurants we have visited.

My partner and I went to London for a short break last week, and we visited the restaurant in Kensington. We were given a very warm welcome and treated to some divine food and drinks. Would like to mention as well that our waiter, David, is extremely good at his job, and made us feel as though we were old friends when really we’d known each other for about an hour or two! I’d love to return to Balans Soho Society the next time I find myself in London, even if just for the cocktails alone!

Lovely little place, great wine, fantastic service, we needed somewhere fast and efficient and we got it! From sitting down to paying the bill within 30mins and still feeling we had a professional restaurant experience in a busy establishment! Would highly recommend �

I haven't been to Balans in almost 6 years, and I'm so happy to see that's it's not only the same great service and food, but even better, if that is even possible. I had the Isle of Whight Tomatoes, sourdough bread and the Long Mango cocktail. It was beyond divine.

I have been coming to Balans for almost 25 years. What was incredible on my last visit yesterday was how good the new additions to the menu were. Great friendly service from lovely staff and lovely crowd as usual, we met a lovely pair from Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 sat next to us at the next table. Balans really has stood the test of time.

Great place for breakfast, excellent staff ( thank you!) Eggs Benedict ( high society) to die for.

A great place for breakfast/brunch/lunch and dinner. Good produce and excellent staff. The menu has some really good quality and interesting dishes. The cocktail list is also excellent. The staff are very very friendly, well spoken, helpful and well trained. We're regulars. Highly recommended!

So I really love the place, the book as a booklover are a great touch! Unfortanetly the menu is limited but the dishes are soooooo nice, I loved it! As well the special touches at classic cocktails love it! Unfortanetly we had the lights going off and the fire alarm going off... That and that there were no vegan dishes were the only 'small' remarks for the rest this place is great!

the waiter who served us yestersay was fab, we only had drinks but saw how lovely the food was, looked amazing, however upon going to use your toilets I was horrified to see overflowing sanitary towel bins with used tampons and sanitary towels on the floor wrapped in tissue, I think that's totally unacceptable for any customer to have to use such dirty toilets. sorry to have to relay negativity but it's not the best standard of facilities by a long shot

Great buzz to the place, and fab location, but not overly impressed by the originality of the menu, the food quality or pricing. Great service though.

Food was ok but trying to get bill corrected when they had overcharged was like getting blood from a stone. Check your bills!

Racially Profiled My First Night in London, how exciting!



Goes without saying I was excited for my first evening in London when we found this bar/restaurant.



The place was full for the most part, with a few unbussed tables in front and some empty tables I could see in the back. There was however no hostess to indicate if it was seat yourself service or wait to be seated.



After a awkwardly waiting by the entrance with no sign of an employee working the door, I decided to walk over to a server terminal where I saw someone putting in an order, to request a table. I asked if we could be seated, and the man (later told me his name was Victor) asked how many. I told him 2 and gestured towards my sister still standing by the door.



He looked over, then replied there would be about a 30 minute wait, to which I said OK that's fine, could you add us to the list please.



He said well, we stop serving alcohol at quarter past 12, so you wouldn't be able to get anything to drink after then. I was surprised by how early bars closed here, and asked if he had the current time, to see if we would still be able to have at least 1 cocktail after the wait. He said it was 11:45, meaning we would be seated after drink service. Convenient.



I pointed out that there were a few empty tables, and would it be possible to just sit for a drink before last call to which he again insisted there was a wait list and suggested we leave and try somewhere else.



I looked around and realized there was no one else standing or waiting around the door or restaurant waiting for a seat. So I asked him, where are the other patrons on your wait list, certainly you could start seating some now. He said they were no longer at the restaurant but he was sticking to the wait list and wouldn't be able to seat us.



At this point, I started realizing what was going on. And started asking if he had a contact number for his phantom wait list party, were they aware tables were open, was it possible they may have gone somewhere else, was he truly going to deny service to us to which he replied

"I am".



Besides the fact that we were denied seating in a bar with several open seats, the nonchalant manner with which I was dismissed (responding to my questions in brief, curt phrases, not even looking at me when we spoke), it was so rude.



I asked if there was a manager, which he said he was.



2 black females walk into a bar. The End. Because racism.
