Our friend, Iain McGlinchey trying out the Summerlee Museum Compton, around a year after we finished getting the organ back on its feet, with no visit since, the organ is sounding much happier than I would have thought. Great playing Iain!!!

The last events of the Festival here at College Claparède this evening, Featuring at 17.00 short Silent films presented by fine young organists, followed by the wonderful Nicolas Hafner playing a Silent Western, and finally a concert and film with the great Richard Hills at 20.00.

Here we go again, more silent film with fascinating accompaniment from Thierry Escaich. It’s so interesting to hear such wildly different ideas for approaching the theatre organ.

Balfour-Rowley Ltd are again in Geneva to help the Claparède College Wurlitzer through another very exciting festival, after a few days of getting notes works and fixing one or two relay problems, as of 19.30 local time, every pipe would speak. We hope it continues that way! Stay tuned to the page of the Association here for further events!

After our recent voicing work at the New Victoria Centre Howden-le-wear, here is a short video clip of yours truly, playing a lovely song ‘Not whilst I’m around’, from Sweeney Todd. The funny thing is that Abi and I seemed to spend most of the two weeks sick in some way, so perhaps, the preceding line of the song is why I chose this piece to play. (Nothing’s gonna harm you, Not while I’m around.) Oh, also, there is a melody error that I play, but I recorded it now, so its tough..

Things to do when you can’t sleep, post a few ‘finished’ pictures. Well, one picture, here is the stop rails of the St Albans Wurlitzer very nearly finished, the last 5 stop of the top rail are winded from an extra blow box, but we can’t have a final position without it being in the console, so I’ll tube them up on site.

Here we are at the Troxy with our first tuning work of 2019, helping on the tonal side preparing the wonderful Wurlitzer organ for the amazing Walt Strony from the USA, I’ve been a fan of Walt’s as long as I have been interested in the organ, and hearing him live is one of those unforgettable things, and here at the Troxy the effect is jaw dropping.
Concert today at 15.30 (doors open at 15.00).
