Balkans Relief

Balkans relief was established in response to the 2015 refugee crisis in the Balkan states to provide essential winter protection and support during the cold of the winter months. Established by a group of friends across a number of European countries, we coordinated online fundraising activities and embarked on program of local fundraising events and awareness initiatives across social and public media, within six weeks raising over €13, 500. The small team then travelled to a number of sites in the Balkans requiring urgent volunteer assistance and sourced the required materials (food, wither clothing, shoes, blankets, sanitary, hygiene equipment etc. ) and in cooperation with state authority and local NGOs to distribute required items to individuals in need of them at transit points.
