Baltic Wharf Club Site Description

Baltic Wharf Caravan Club Site is a waterside haven, located right in the heart of Bristol's beautifully re-developed dockland and linked by a convenient river ferry to the city centre with its lively shops and entertainments. For families staying at the caravan site, great attractions include the Zoo and Downs Park: a cosy and safe place for young children to play and also an ideal picnic spot.

Thoroughly enjoying our stay at Baltic Wharf in Bristol. Such a convenient and quiet location- will DEFINITELY return here if we can get a pitch!

This site is one of the Caravan Clubs best situated sites ever. A ferry to go to the shops in instead of a bus who can fault it. It is a shame that its future hangs in the balance with local developers. It has fantastic views over the river with its multi coloured painted houses on the other bank .Although close to the local public house no noise was heard . Fantastic folks , clean , tidy , just as it should be . Keep up the good work.

This is such a wonderful little Caravan and Motorhome Club site It only accommodates approx 45 Caravans / Motorhomes. There are exceptionally clean Shower / Toilet facilities. The Wardens are very friendly and cannot do enough for you they give a personal service to the members staying on the site The site is situated right on the banks of the river. You only have to walk less than 20 yards and through the rear gate on the site and the river is right there in front of you . You can get a water boat taxi which takes you up the river estuary to the Centre of Bristol where it is just a short walk to all the main shops and Cabot Circus. Caravan Club members get a discount on fares on production of your caravan club members card. Turn left immediately left out of the site again from the rear gate then you find a lovely country pub called The Cottage ( Great Food ) reasonably priced. Then outside the site at the front you can catch a couple of Buses. This is such a Quaint site. But due to its popularity it's important that you book well in advance. The site is with in easy reach of many other interesting places, Bath, Weston Super Mare, Clevedon, Wells, Cheddar, to name but a few. We certainly highly recommend a fantastic pub called The Rose of Denmark, less than 10mins in a Car has great atmosphere and has excellent choice of alcoholic beverages and excellent food / Sunday Lunch. This one of our favourite Caravan sites it's very unique that's why we have awarded it a score of 5.

This is a first class site. But there is clearly a booking problem which needs sorting. Everyone complains that they have difficulty making a booking as the site is fully booked month on month. A few ideas come to mind - limit stays to max 5 days - make it a members only site - take full fee on booking. .

I am surprised that it is shown as being "ideal for dogs" nothing could be further from the truth. It is surrounded by water and roads.

Otherwise all is excellent.

User

Superb location. Facilities really clean and very helpful staff. We were lucky enough to get a pitch - booked almost a year in advance as soon as the lines opened. Hope to come back (if we can get in). We can understand why the site is so popular. The walk along the river is very pleasant and you can catch the ferry if you prefer.

User

Our favourite site and we managed to jump in after another cancellation.

Used our bikes again to visit the town but also easy access from the back gate by ferry or walk.

Lots in the area to visit and plenty of places to eat.

User

Lovely well kept site right on the waterside at Bristol Harbour. Easy access to city either on foot or by Bristol Ferry boats just outside the back gate. Always popular and busy.

User

Lovely site which is now staying open for foreseeable future as the council has no money to build a school on the site at present...It has a three year reprieve I understand and will remain popular with visitors to the area. The city would loose so much business if it did close the site and local attractions might even have to close too if it went. Its always full and difficult to get in to but worth a visit if you can.

User

Love this site and such a fantastic location.

Only problem is get booked onto the site which had been made worse with the new booking system. (Definitely not a fan of that)

User

Location, location ! Lovely little site... not the most picturesque I've been to but it's location makes up for it.

A gate leads directly out onto the water front promenade. £3 round trip ferry directly into the heart of the food/drink/shops or steady 20 mins stroll. There's a pub next door and on a warm evening there's lots of people sitting on the embankment steps having a drink watching the sun go down and dinghy sailing etc.

User

Just got back from three night stay. Great site with pub and shop both nearby. Site is clean and tidy and the staff very friendly. Facilities clean and warm. Walk / Bus (free) or water taxi to the city centre, so much to see and do.

User

It's a great site and ideally placed to get into the city either on foot, on the ferry or the bus. It's immaculately kept and the wardens are friendly. It's just a shame it takes so long to get booked in (about 4 years for us!!) would like to come back so will keep trying.

User

Club sit is very good, also location, staff very nice, facility’s spotless & I think why it’s difficult to get a booking! It’s so popular.

User

Brilliant site very clean and central for a city trip to Bristol, lovely harbour-side walks and open top bus tour stops outside gate. Will definitely visit again

User

Baltic Warf is a great site right in the heart of Bristol lovely walk along the Warf with access by gate from camp site. Had a meal at the Cottage Pub last night and the food and service was great.

User

Amazing site right on the river, walking distance to the city centre. All the facilities are kept to a very high standard. Only downside its always very hard to get availability.

User

This is our favourite site and have visited many times over the last 18 years, winter, summer and Christmas. Can't fault the location, facilities, wardens and always a joy to step onto the wharf and just watch the river traffic. Wold have given 5* but for one gripe, and that is the lack of awning pitches, even at 08.10 am on 6th December all of them were booked! When you have three children, one being a teenager, awning space is paramount, pity really as back in the day nearly all the pitches allowed awnings. Strange you are allowed to choose your pitch on arrival but not an awning one, which must be booked?? Gripe over, its still a great place to be.

User

Exceptionally clean facilities and site in a good location.

We only came because we were attending a concert in Bristol.

Spent 5 months trying to get a pitch but luckily 4 days before they obviously had a cancellation, so 5 months of checking the website every day for availability eventually paid off!

However as with all club sites it's expensive, you can see why it is and the site is immaculate but I couldn't justify the cost for more than a night or two.

However we will come back for a weekend, if we can get booked in!!

User

A great location, very easy walk into Bristol, SS Great Britain worth a visit and plenty of restaurants and pubs near by!
