Bampton Heritage & Visitor Centre in Mid Devon is within the 12 century church of St Michael and All Angels. Display boards on historical topics adorn the walls, and modern display cases illustrate many local artefacts, displays changing on a frequent basis. There are activities for children including dressing-up and a sensory box for them to explore. An impressive model of Bampton railway station as it used to be may be viewed. A range of local videos may be seen including the history of the railway, guides to the church and to the town, and Bampton Charter Fair. The Centre also provides a Town Trail walk, or can organise guides walks for groups.
