Our messy malleable tray is always full of fun, and these are just some of the activities our mini moons get up to every day! ๐Ÿค— We provide them lots of opportunities to explore new materials and resources and provide them with experiences vital for their development. The children (and the staff) always have a blast, as well as making it a perfect learning opportunity for them as well. So if your child comes home a little messy after nursery, just know that they have had a day full of fun, learning, exploring, experimenting, and so on! ๐Ÿ’–

Full moons have been exploring different foods this week!
On Tuesday, they were experimenting with rice. They spoke about the different textures of it and explored different ways to use it - the children then added some water to it, so they could physically see the effect of the rice when it got wet! A messy and positive experience for the children - lots of new vocabulary was used during this activity as well.
To follow the theme of foods, today, they were talking about healthy eating and the importance of a balanced diet. The Full Moons had some fruit and vegetables to play with, and they spoke about their textures, where the foods come from, how they are cooked - the list goes on! They also practised using the knives to chop them up as well. They learnt how to use the tools safely, as well as practising using one handed tools!

One of our mini moons had a brilliant idea this afternoon.
He found a strip of carpet in the construction area and decided that he wanted to make a ramp for the cars to go down. With help from a grown up, we spoke about what we could use to make the ramp and hold it up. He and his friends had a lovely time putting it to use, and when it fell down, they worked together to fix it again.
Such amazing problem solving skills, and this is an example of how we can put various different spare parts to good use!

The Baby Moons have been using their creative skills this week to make some bright pictures ๐Ÿ˜Š The children decided what they wanted to use by raiding the art cupboard! They decided to use cotton reels and lots of different colours of paint. The children then washed their hands after they were finished, they were so independent! ๐Ÿ‘
