Just back from a wet and windy week at Bank House Farm, campsite is very well maintained, clean and tidy.
We camped by the river which nearly flooded on our first night and then had high winds on our 2nd night, we still enjoyed ourselves, Max the doggy loved it, thank you to the wardens on an excellent job, enjoy next season.
My only niggle was the showers, hot clean shower but room/area freezing cold, I do know this is being addressed over winter so should be fab next year.
Manifold Inn across the road is very accommodating, huge meals and friendly staff.
If you are thinking of booking...its worth it.

To respond to some reviews..the campsite is kept nice so that campers appreciate the scenery, and the space, and the relaxation, people that write reviews that don't appreciate it have no respect and probably won't be welcome back. Nothing to do for children...how about playing in the field with them yourselves, just a thought.

Thank you Bank House Farm and Staff x

Just got home from a very wet windy weekend camping with friends on top field but this didn't deter from the fact this is a beautiful site with fabulous views. The Wardens despite the rain were always cheerful, chatty and happy to help in any way. Facilities were good and clean, which was a challenge given the weather.
Pub is at the entrance and the Manifold trail is just around the corner - had a great walk to Thors cave. We were also spoilt for places to eat which were a god send given we had forgot the barbecue
Would definitely recommend, don't normally write reviews but just wanted to say thanks guys for a great stay, two nights wasn't enough and we will be back hopefully bringing the sun with us.

Beautiful location for a campsite, with a small river, rolling hills, and gorgeous Peak District views. There's a good pub, village shop, tea rooms, and no shortage of great walks on the doorstep. The site is justifiably popular and busy in season. Ablution facilities are slightly limited, which is apparently due to the difficulty getting planning permission in the national park. Staff are friendly and obliging, and the site is doggy friendly. I see that a few of the reviews have complained about the lack of facilities for kids -- I think these customers have missed the point slightly. For us, Bank House was exactly what we expected having done the research.

I came here with my little girl and my dog, the weather was terrible but that didn't matter, wayne, Marilyn and the warden were so friendly and couldn't do enough for you. We camped in the meadow which was just fantastic, so well kept and beautiful views. Can't wait to come again! Very happy camper! 😎

Our experience was good but not of the camp site and the workers. One bloke said we could have a refund and go some wear else then later on repeatly asking for the rest of the money even though we had already paid for two nights and were not gonna just stay for two nights and drive 4 odd hours home. In my opinion this site should be advertised for adults only as there is f*** all for children to do there.

Stayed on the meadow field, bank holiday weekend. Lovely site, friendly and welcoming wardens and we really appreciated the fact they don't take the opportunity to cram as many people in as they could on bank holidays (there was certainly the demand). There was plenty of room in the meadow field and it was really refreshing to have the freedom to pitch where we wanted and for it not to be overcrowded. It was also nice and peaceful, no loud campers and it's great to be able to have a camp fire. Will definitely return.

We stayed for the August Bank holiday weekend in the Meadow field.
The area is very picturesque and quiet during the day. Good showers. fridge freezers for you to use, too!
The Wardens were very friendly, welcoming and hospitable and always available to the camper's needs - They even pulled a caravan out of the mud using a tractor. The toilets, showers and bins were regularly cleaned and maintained.
Across the road is an excellent pub 'The Manifold Inn' which had a good selected of ales and a fantastic lunch menu. There is a local shop, right next to the site, which is very convenient and the shopkeepers are very friendly. Lots of walks to do in the area. If you are in the Meadow field, be warned that there are no toilet facilities here, so you will have to cross over to the main site regularly. Apart from one group which played loud music and were shouting 'til late, the place is very quiet and relaxing.

Had a fantastic weekend at this campsite and would highly recommend it to people who like to be out in the countryside like us. The site is well maintained and very clean and set in a beautiful location. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The Manifold Inn across from the campsite is very welcoming and serves lovely food. Even the rain didn't dampen our spirits and we will definitely be paying a visit to Bank House Farm campsite again.

The site is well presented and facilities are fairly good on the main site. This is not the all singing and dancing campsite that you can get, which is generally good in my opinion. Shop and pub very close by, and of course beautiful walks. The road splitting the site is not ideal at all, and of course a big hazard for children, but we were warned of this when booking. Some toilet facilities on that side of the site may be worth considering. Unfortunately my dealing with the owner were not good and a few things seemed to be disorganised. The wardens alway seem nice and friendly though, so maybe bad timings / moods on both parts. As there are so many other campsites in the area I will be trying a differnet one if I return to the area.
