Went today with a big group of cyclists. The staff were great and we look forward to the next visit. The soup and latte were excellent.

We visited today on the opening day and it was lovely. The staff were all welcoming and very helpful, the animals were all as lovely as ever and the cakes, well they were beaut!!! Thank you, we'll be back soon! Xx

We visited this place with granddaughter number 3 who is two and a half. Her smiles and her actions said it all. We loved it and will be back with her of course. She strutted around like she'd been there before. You're all doing a fab job stick at it guys. Thank you xx

We love it here. Lovely staff. Cafe is beautifully decorated, yummy cake and bacon sandwiches. Our little boys love the giant sandpit. Excellent value for money.

We had a really lovely school visit to Bankend. They organised three activities for 30 4 and 5 year olds and accommodated for all of our varying needs. The staff were so very friendly and helpful. The children made a pizza each to bring back to school, took part in a craft activity and enjoyed hearing about and feeding the animals. What a fantastic day out to enthuse our children and give a practical hands on experience to compliment our current topic. Thank you so much.

We came to Bankend today for opening and we were welcomed by super friendly staff and a warm atmosphere. Having already visited when it was seedlings my 3 year old was excited to see the animals (especially the sheep). We’ve had an absolutely fab day, love the new look to the place and couldn’t sing the praises of the staff enough.



My daughter who is currently really interested in environmental conservation was so excited to see you use paper straws instead of plastic too � We will be coming back again and again that’s for sure!!

Was lovely here, plenty for children to do while adults can relax with a coffee and cakes �

Visited today with my little boy! We had a great morning and even brought a piece of chocolate cake home! It was delicious. Can already see the improvements they are making to some aspects of the play/animal area! It’s looking great! Can’t wait till our next visit!

Visited today with a friend & our three little ones, the tiny ones enjoyed seeing the animals, my two boys loved the slide and having a run about.... it’s all clean & tidy, we had some lovely cake & the staff were very welcoming! ... don’t visit expecting a huge revamp, it has a way to go but the potential is very exciting, we will be regulars & look forward to watching it grow! good luck! x

Visited today for a baby shower afternoon tea. Was fabulous kids loved all the play areas lots of bikes to share and we'll equipped sandpit. Food lovely thank you very much

Visited this place today with friends. We were on a bike ride and it was nearly closing time, but we were made welcome and weren't rushed. Food and coffee was lovely, staff very friendly. Bought a Dcuk biker duck from the gift shop, who happened to be called Walter, the same as my hubby! Wish you every success with your new business....we will definitely visit again, if in the area x

Visited on Sunday afternoon when it was a bit grey but rain held off. Bit muddy underfoot but that’s what wellies are for! My daughter loved running, playing around on the bikes and tractors and in the sand pit and seeing all the animals.

Visited here on Sunday for the Easter egg hunt with my 2 children they had lots of fun. All the staff were very welcoming and friendly, there was a great range of easter crafts for the children. The hunt was good fun although my 2 were more interested in playing in the puddles! The gift shop is lovely lots a little craft things for very reasonable prices! The only slight disappointment was from Amy (4) because there wasn’t a salad on the menu.

Such friendly folk and the short time they have been in the difference is fabulous. Can't wait to taste the afternoon teas and the Strawberries xx

Stumbled across a man as we were cycling to Birkin tea rooms who advised us to try Bankend tea rooms instead. We certainly had no regrets. Turned out the man was actually the owner but he didnt tell us this at the time �. The cake was absolutely delicious (huge slices too) And very friendly. The site is still very much a work in progress but with the support of local custom I'm sure they will get there. Highly recommended and will definitely return.

Great place for young children with sand pit, play area, cycling track, not to mention the animal petting place, there's lots to see.

Loved it today muddy puddles every where with the rain that poured down yesterday. Kids were very happy. Stayed for 3 hours was lovely to see the lamb's. We will certainly be back always have a good day and food is gorgeous too.

Love this place and didnt even know it existed until a couple of weeks ago! The family who own Bankend are so lovely and the work that they are putting into this place is amazing. Whats already there and the plans they have (dont know how they have the energy or drive as it must be such hard work!) is fabulous for little ones. I can imagine this place is going to be a main attraction for people far and wide in time and what an amazing space for the locals! Well done for all of your hard work up to now xx

I visited yesterday and had a lovely homemade meal in the cafe and a quick stroll around the animal and play park outside which had plenty for little ones to do. The new owners are still carrying out work around the building but after speaking with them and hearing their future plans it sounds like it will be the perfect place to visit again with our three young children. We wish the new owners luck with their new venture and will definitely be going back!

Came today with my little girl, she loved the rabbits and spent the first 5 mins talking to them in the entrance, she loved seeing the animals and playing outside on the slide, while it began to rain we came inside and had lunch in the cafe which was lovely and well priced my little girl then made use of the indoor play area and enjoyed colouring. I haven't been here since it was seedlings but I must say I am loving the improvements and the ideas coming forward, it has so much potential and given that this will be open in winter too it will make a nice change from the overcrowded soft play we are used to. Thank you for making us feel so welcome :)

A lovely little place to take kids, my son and nephew seemed to really enjoy everything it has to offer. Pleased to see all the effort that the new owners are putting in, looking forward to see what they are planning just hope it doesn’t end up a really expensive place like many others.

Visited today with my two granddaughter's who were mainly interested in the sand pit which was well equipped with climbing frames buckets spades etc.there were no small ride ons for them to go round the bike track with but to be fair they weren't that bothered.but some boys a lot older were having a great time playing round it.called at the cafe for drinks and some lovely homemade cookies.a good array of animals you could touch but mine weren't bothered lol.left because it became really hot and no shade but the owner told me he's onto it ordering brollys and putting a roof on the sand pit.its a work in progress it will get better if supported .

This place has it all sand, wheeled toys, animals and a lovely tea room, yes it needs abit of tlc but with these new owners it loooks like its going in the right direction!! We went today and was met with smiles and nothing but kindness, everybody should go and support this little gem and help the owners make something big so our little people can always enjoy this place i know my boys aged 21mths 10 and 12 love this place and so do i! So come on, go and have a good time with your little or not so little ones!

I think the pricing is fair at £2.50 per person for the play area. We'll definitely be going back.

Lots of animals to see too, the baby rabbits were a big hit! Anyone could observe that there is work to do here, but if the play area is anything to go by then it’s going to be absolutely amazing soon. We’ll keep coming and I hope others will too. Keep up the good work!

Great space for kids to play indoor and out. Rather warm inside on a hot day but really friendly staff and inexpensive cafe. George the tortoise was very cute plus lots of chickens, pigs and rabbits to see. Clean and not too busy in the week.

We live locally so decided to have a look. Lots of work done to tidy the place up, however, disappointed the cost is the same while nothing extra for the kids.

Yes the toys inside were tired - but they had something to play with! They have all gone.

Less animals (I understand this will probably improve) and the bikes are all still in the same very poor state.

Perhaps drop prices until some real changes have been made.



Staff were friendly and the cafe was clean and tidy. Can you confirm is FHRS score was from previous owners or new ones?



To note there is not a large menu and no card machine - cash only for now.



All in all, I would like to go back, but might leave it a few more months to see improvements. Price per adult / child not great for what's on offer.

When I visit a tearoom I expect a large tea selection, no afternoon tea option which is what I was hoping we would be able to get. A good chunk of the menu is breakfast but these were all unavailable due to no bacon or sausage. Limited hot options besides breakfast so the people I visited with just had cheesy chips and soup. The ladies in the cafe were both polite and helpful so can't fault them. Would visit again if menu updated/expanded. I understand you're just finding your feet but as it is at the minute I don't think it would be somewhere I would go for lunch/coffee again.
