Bannatyne Colchester - Kingsford Park

Not as good an experience as previous visit, lack of customer care, ridiculously long wait for food, welcome drink (tea, coffee) now not included, lack of being able to get water - but the spa girls were brilliant and friendly, trying to put our bad experience right, though had to rush with our treatments due to previous clients arriving late as they'd waited more than one hour for their pre-ordered food!!
Pull your socks up before you loose your clientele!

Just spent 12 mins waiting on the phone just to book an offer which you can't book on line. We got a gift voucher (otherwise would have gone elsewhere) I have now been transferred 4 times all with a queue. At an extra 7p per call on top of your normal tariff and with the time it took to book I was on the phone for 22 mins in total costing me an extra £1.54. And I haven't even got through the door yet! When we arrived everybody was pleasant enough but I got given a dirty, grey and slightly damp dressing gown which was horrible, when I asked it to be exchanged it was replaced by one only slightly better, yuk!. Lunch was a shambles nobody seemed to know what was going on, we had a shared platter (no cooking involved) which took 50 minutes to arrive and they weren't busy. Treatments ok but our 30 minutes was cut short as they were late to come and get us. I would not recommend this place, going for a spa day you want something special, this place is not special.

My family treated us to this spar day it was great the staff were very friendly the food and facilities were excellent

Loved it! The staff are lovely, the treatments that I had were amazing (back, face and scalp massages), the food was delicious, definitely a fantadtic, relaxing day!

Not sure I like the blacked out windows, either from inside or outside. It looks like it shut down. Such a shame as its a beautiful building and an even more beautiful location. The old shutters have been removed from inside as well. The windows have actually been sprayed with a black paint type of substance. Very odd. Love the venue usually, but this time the tables were not cleaned properly, no table linen or salt and pepper pots. No attention to detail and the meals were brought out one by one, with a gap in between, so my friend got hers several minutes before I did.
It happened to another table, so was not just us. When the tables were finally cleaned down the cleaning fluid being sprayed around was toxic, people ended up coughing. Food ok 5/10, whereas it's normally 9/10. Perhaps we just went on an off day. Went on midsummer's day. Outside area good with all the sunbeds. Garden stunning as usual.

Haven’t actually experienced the Spa or anything else as was on hold for 40min trying to book and couldn't be bothered to wait any longer. 40min of my time wasted which = £350 out of my pocket. New bookings clearly not that important will not be trying again!!

Lovely pool and spa, although it's quite pricey. Lovely clean changing rooms. Staff are friendly. Have yet to try the food but hear it's good.

Had such a lovely day. Little unorganised as we walked in as it's changed hands. I'm not an organised person so found it funny. It made me really relax actually as never been to a spa. It all came together in the end. Kelly was a star. Her massage was amazing. Highly recommend her with a 5*+. Will definitely go back. Food pretty good to.
