This #Friday is National 4pm Finish Day! To celebrate the early start to the weekend we're moving our Banyan Club menu to start at the earlier time of 4pm on Friday 14th September. Because what better way to start the weekend that with 2-4-£10 cocktails and £6 gin copas?

We came here yesterday after winning the competition for 2 sunday roasts and a bottle of wine. Would like to say thankyou so much it was lovely. We came with friends we enjoyed the starters the bang bang chicken and the garlic mushrooms were fab the chicken was very tender. Main meal we all went for beef it was lush and defo order the red cabbage it was just divine. Our wine went fab with the meal and so did the drinks and all our fantastic cocktails. There was a chilled atmosphere and some soft music. And our server he was soooo lovely had a big smile on his face. Well done team Banyan 10/10 as always xx

Great service, our waitress was lovely, helpful with the menu, attentive & generally everything you'd want from a server. Wish I could tell you her name.

Our meals were delicious, we had a sharing platter & then decided what to have next.... To see how full we were....

My pal had a burger which she loved & I had an Asian chicken salad with a side of lovely sweet potato fries.

Gorgeous lunch here yesterday in the sun. Friendly staff, delicious food and quality drinks. Lovely outside area when the weathers good but also very nice atmosphere inside. Highly recommend for brunch, lunch, dinner or even just drinks!

Went on Monday nice hot sunny day so sat outside. Service was fairly quick food came out hot and was nicely presented. I had the Fish cakes which were nice .

Always friendly. Food service really quick in the evenings but can be a bit tardy at lunchtimes. Overall we find it fine.

The food and cocktails were good, the service was slow and we were served by about 5 different people, which I don't mind but no one came over and took our orders we had to stop servers multiple times and each time was told 'I'll get your waitress.' Who she was I'll never know. Work need to be done to improve service as it has the potential to be a really good restaurant and bar!

Service was great. Manager was very obliging. Waitress service was also great- even popped outside to see if we wanted more drinks. Sharing platters mostly great, but you still manage to serve stale pitta. This was often the case when it was Napa, too. Pop a sprinkle of water on them and heat them up, please! Some of the pastes were smeared on the breadboards. Please just pop them in small dishes. Great to get plates with our meals. Belvedere vodkas were spot on! Didn't stay too long after meal as 'atmosphere'/ energy felt flat in my opinion. Have to say, my friends felt that way too. Hope it picks up after all the work done on the re-furb. To be honest, it felt more of a 'dining' experience rather than a place to have drinks and stay. We left several hours earlier than we normally would have done previously. It was also noted outdoors, no braziers were working either. Little things that can be 'tweaked' to make an ok experience become great...

Had a brilliant couple of hours for lunch. Food great, service impeccable. Every time I come to Leeds from Hampshire, we always try to get a few hours here. About time they opened in our neck if the woods. Highly recommended.

Very slow service, £2 for literally 2 thimbles if coleslaw and £8 for a bit of bread and some olives! Wow... they did knock off the coffee that nearly never arrived though...

Very disappointing. There were a group of 6 of us and we wanted to take family from out of Leeds as heard great things about Banyan. The service was not what it should of been, after 30 minutes of waiting at our table, we had to ask someone for service as had not been asked if we wanted a drink. Our order was then wrong as not all the food came out, I asked somebody for what was missed, there was no apology and the food still did not arrive! I shouldn't have had to ask for a third time...we addressed this regarding the bill but we were still billed for the food that did not arrive, even though we asked twice. Food and drinks were good but the service was a real let down, I appreciate places are busy but all we needed was acknowledgment and an apology!

This is a local but what on earth is going on with the service? Tried to order a Diet Coke from a very confused guy behind the bar and he appeared to just stand there doing nothing before a more senior staff member took over. Then tried to order food which was a 20-minute ordeal, the man taking my order didn't seem to know or understand what "olives" meant and trying to ask for a burger without the bread bun was a shockingly convoluted ordeal, he didn't get it and asked his colleague what i meant! Lots of the dishes were missing, would really help if you explained which on the menu un advance. It seems you have lots of staff but very little action. I appreciate it was busy but I've seen it busier and ordering very obvious stuff from the menu shouldn't turn into an ordeal full of confusion & miscomprehension!

Shocking service..waited almost half hour for 2 coffees..left in the end and went to the lovley petite cafe over the road, where we got a decent hot coffee immediately

My friends and I ate at banyan last night it was a farce beginning to end , our orders weren't available so they were changed. The starters came and we're lovely but the mains were cold two orders were wrong we told a manager who said I heard you say BBQ sauce when no sauce was specified at the change of order. She was rude and quite sarcastic. Two of my friends who had the same meal have been ill, my meal consisted of cold mushy chicken burnt fries and cold halloumi . We were sat directly next to the kitchen and watched our food sit on a side for a long time luckily our desert came and was warm ! Although it was Erin mess and ice cream ( or warm slop) in short it's not great I wouldn't recommend wasting your money

My friend a booked a table for 5 people but when we arrived we were told that somebody else had our table by mistake ! We were told that we could sit and have a drink at another table until another table is free . However the tables weren't suitable at all for my friend who is in a wheelchair ! One was too small to get us all round and not accessible and the other was a high table which wasn't ideal for my friend in a wheelchair ! My friend asked if we could have done drinks on the house because of the inconvenience and they agreed ,However it took an age to take the order and bring them !

We eventually got a suitable table for us but again took ages to take our order ! When we did get served we were told that there was a half an hour wait on food ! Not good at all ! We should have been told this when we arrived !

When the food came (after 35mins and all at different times ! ) it was good ! Thank goodness ! However we were really disappointed with the service ! We have been to Banyan in Harrogate and Leeds and received excellent service there ! It needs sorting out ! I'm sorry to say that we have been put off returning !

Food was great, service was shocking. Booked a table for 10 for my sisters birthday. We were put right next to the kitchen which was noisy and when we finished eating no asked us if we were ok during the meal or for more any more drinks... and no one took our plates when we had finished. They never asked what kids drinks we would like which were included in the kids meal deal. Had to complain when paying the bill (which I had to request from the bar) but no apology, just given a fiver off the bill. Very disappointed as previous visits have been good. Won’t be booking again for a special occasion.

Food was great but service was a let down. Silly table numbering system that waitresses can't see. Tables and chairs so close together outside so that waitresses and waiters have to brush up against you to serve each table. Poor wheelchair access. Very slow bar service. Huge room for improvement. Manager was informed and seemed receptive to feedback but it's a shame they were proactive enough to see themselves.

Service was diabolical, had to get up 4 times to ask for various things or just to order (having been ignored for 40mins!). Food was shocking, one meal actually had raw chicken �� £120 quid for the worst dining experience I've had in a longtime. I thought things could only be improved on food when it changed from Napa to Banyan. Somehow, unbelievably, it is actually worse!
