About Barbican Theatre

Developing talent and enabling young people to produce and experience new theatre and dance. Entertainment for everybody!

Barbican Theatre Description

Barbican Theatre is a dynamic charity established in 1980. Young people and the development of creative skills are at the heart of all that we do.

Our ambition has been to raise the standard of dance and theatre performance being produced by, with and for young people. We seek to challenge what traditional notions of theatre and dance are and liberate the imagination of young people to create fresh and exciting work that comes from new and unusual voices – voices that are often unheard.

Okay so we're on day 4000 of the rain and we don't know about you but we're a tad fed up with it (okay a lot fed up with it!) So we've put the Beach Boys on spotify at Barbican towers and it's really starting to make us feel more summery. It's only 1 month until Beach Boyz Tribute Show return to The Plymouth Athenaeum following their fantastic show last summer. 📅Fri 12 July ⌚️8pm (bar and box office open 7pm) 🎟 £20 (inc all booking fees)... 💻 https://barbicantheatre.co.uk/…/the-bea ch-boys-tribute-show/
_______________
The Beach Boyz Tribue Show
Let us take you on a journey of time and space, back to the 1960s and across to the sunny shores of the Golden state of California where the surf sound was conceived.
Whether you are coming back to see them again or coming for the first time, the show is exhilarating as ever, filling the auditorium with glorious, rich vocal harmony, the five all singing, all playing boys that are Beach Boyz Tribute Band continue to amaze, astound and defy belief in their recreation of America’s biggest and longest selling pop rock band The Beach Boys®.
No other tribute act can provide a lively fun packed show showcasing over 30 hit records that are performed 100% live.
You’ll hear Beach Boyz Tribute Band re-create the early rock and roll sounds with such accurate authenticity you will be transported back to the days of black and white; then carried on a wave of harmony to the multi coloured complex orchestral works of Brian Wilson and Pet Sounds.
Do not be surprised if at the end of the performance you are on your feet clapping and cheering for more, you will be in good company, for it happens at every Beach Boyz Tribute Band concert across the UK and beyond!

Huge congratulations to Alexander Dover on his new role in Moving Stories’ forthcoming production of Romeo & Juliet. Alexander was one of our emerging #BardInTheYard actors, playing Banquo and Malcolm in our open air production of Macbeth last summer (to much acclaim from audiences and theatre critics) We said it last year and we’ll say it again now that we see a great acting career ahead of him.
