Bardolino Birmingham

Went today for afternoon tea with my husband and young daughter. We were shown to our table promptly and soon served a glass of prosecco. I ordered my daughter a pepperoni pizza. We waited a short while and then we were all served at the same time. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed her pizza. Our afternoon tea arrived and we were not disappointed. Mini burgers, bruscettas, sweet potato fries and olives then tiramisu, chocolate brownies and lemon tart. All divine. What made it special though was our waitress Thulani. Very friendly especially with our daughter..very helpful and a thoroughly nice girl. Can't wait to visit again!

We went here way back in February for my husbands birthday and had such shocking service we were offered a return visit which we took last night.

This time it definitely did not disappoint. The staff were attentive, nothing was too much trouble, and the food was delicious and plentiful. Our party had pizzas, lasagne and pasta bolognaise, and every dish was lovely. Sweets were also yummy!

There has been a change of management and it clearly shows !

Me and my husband were at bardolino’s yesterday having afternoon tea as were given a voucher for Christmas and I have to say it was all amazing , the staff, the food, the atmosphere and the view, we will definitely be returning again, thanks to all staff for making it a lovely afternoon. Mr and mrs Swadling Worcestershire.!!!!!

Lovely food, plenty of bellinis!

Service was great and staff really pleasant. Restaurant is a bit on the small side and we were a bit uneasy sitting by people from the spa having lunch in their dressing gowns! Also the toilets need checking for loo roll etc a bit more often as everyone had none!

I came here yesterday as it was a present from my parents , I had an amazing experience and loved meeting chef he was lovely and talked for sometime with us food was amazing the staff were also very attentive and helpful.

I would recommend this experience . I told chef it was my birthday and he wrote a message in my book !

Had a lovely sparkling afternoon tea with my daughter who bought me this for Mother's day, it was a nice change from having lots of stodgy sandwiches and piles of cake, although I must say there was definitely plenty for the two of us and the cakes we had were gorgeous would definitely go again lovely atmosphere, looking out over the water

Excellent atmosphere chilled & all the staff were FAB! as was the afternoon tea for two I shared with my wife. We will be back again very soon!

Couldn’t fault it! I Was bought the sparking Italian afternoon tea for two as a gift and will defiantly be going back!



On arrival we were early, but it wasn’t a problem and we were seen to our table straight away... the guy that served us told us how it would work and what we were going to receive with the afternoon tea....



As it was sparking and me and my partner don’t really drink fizz we asked if we could have a soft drink alternative and that wasn’t a problem at all! We also asked if we could swap out the olives, which again wasn’t a problem!



Shortly after being seating, our drinks arrived and not long after so did our afternoon tea and we were not disappointed!



Everything that was delivered was full of flavour and absolutely delicious!



Staff were attentive throughout and was such a relaxing environment!



Will be booking to go again and would defiantly recommend!

Had a lovely time. We had been given a voucher for Christmas for a two course meal with fizz.The place was very quiet, so we had excellent personal service. The lasagna was beautiful. Only criticism....the fizz was a little sweet for our taste, and not served cold enough.

While the Food was top notch the service was shocking! The waitress didn’t have a clue she informed us what wasn’t available but didn’t leave us the menu to see what to order, She had to confirm what drinks we wanted twice after she had walked away. She put both mains infront of my husband. We cancelled my daughters pudding as she was full so they cancelled my husbands too so had to ask for that again bearing in mind we booked the 2 course set menu and didn’t have a starter. And then they still tried to charge us for my daughters pudding.

There wasn’t much on the menu that we fancied. Lovely aubergine parmigano starter but my main - chicken, mushrooms, mac & cheese was very dry. The service was a bit slow. Booking advised.

Nice place and the pizza was delicious. Except that I ordered a drink off the menu they didn't have, couldn't do onion rings as fryer was broken. Ordered sweet potatoe fries and got normal fries.

The place was empty and we wasn’t allowed to sit at a table .. they was all booked !!!!

Really disappointed after a meal here. We booked in advance and unfortunately arrived on the day when Birmingham had no power! Nobody’s fault, can’t be helped and we were called to be advised of this. Rebooked for the following week and we asked for the latest possible time as Monday was early closing, which we were told was 4:30pm. We arrived at 4:25 to be barked at by the gentleman who approached us ‘the kitchen closes in 3 minutes’. We advised we had booked this time over the phone, we had come a fair way (twice!) and we were seated, though clearly begrudgingly. The waitress who served us was really lovely, didn’t make us feel rushed but nothing I wanted was available so had to reorder (I suspect because the kitchen was closing - no hot desserts, only the simplest mains). Then during dessert another waitress started mopping the floor so I had the stench of bleach to go along with my dessert and last glass of fizz. All in all a very poor experience. We won’t be returning.

Like some of the other reviewers I would have to agree that the service here is just awful. I bought the groupon afternoon tea deal for a friends special birthday. Like many other we stood and waited and waited for around ten minutes before anyone came to seat us. There appeared to only be two waiters dealing with a very busy lunchtime session!! The food was good and hot but like others we had to chase round looking for the waiter for clean plates and cutlery for the cakes. In addition they sat us right next to the stairs where the people from the Spa were coming up to wait for tables. Because there were no staff to seat them we had a group of ladies in bathrobes right on top of us looking over our shoulder at what we were eating because no one came to serve them for 15 mins!!! Unless they get their act together I wouldn’t go back.

Booked an afternoon tea which was very disappointing, tiny bits of tasteless food, left feeling hungry. The service however was good, Shame they couldn’t get the food right

Absolutely dreadful. Was part of a deal with the spa. Been before and it was great no issues. Got moved from having lunch at 1pm till 2.30pm. Ordered food at 2.30pm and hr later no food. Checked with waiter order never went through. Started again was then told 10 mins later that chef couldn't do the pizza I wanted gluten free when I said i had this before I was told we have a new chef now!! Another 10mins later now and hr and 40 mins of sitting down & hungry I was told what pizza the chef could make me I said thats fine but no chilles. When the food finally arrived which was now wrong I asked where the rest of it was first 1/4 pizza if that and I had specifically asked for no chillies and it was all over it i asked the waitress to take it away. (Now really annoyed & extremely hungry). Waitress came out again & said anything else we can offer you. To which I replied clearly not!! After nearly 2 hrs I had a portion of chips to tie me over as it was now 420pm & I had 10 mins to eat it!! Appalling service I have ever had. Oh yes I was offered bread to a coaelic. Think your staff need training in more ways than one!

We went for afternoon tea yesterday and were booked in at 16:00. We received terrible service for the duration of the visit. At one point, we ordered a bottle of wine only to be told that there was no bottle opener, so we’d have to choose one with a screw top! Then at 17:00, we were ushered out because they were closing!

DO NOT GO THERE!
