Barefoot Ceremonies

About Barefoot Ceremonies

Hello, my name is Margaret Hemper, and I have been performing ceremonies for the last decade for friends, and more recently for clients.
Having officiated at several ceremonies now, I offer a very personalized service.

Barefoot Ceremonies Description

I have been performing ceremonies for the last decade or more for friends, and more recently for clients.

I offer a very personalized service from your own design wedding or ring ceremony, pagan style handfasting, baby or child naming, renewal of vows, and any life celebrations, even divorce!

I meet with you in advance and collaborate with you throughout to design the ceremony that is as unique as you are. We talk about wordings, and I then create your bespoke ceremony to fit in with your beliefs or lack of them! I can give advice on colours, flowers, etc. , and can even help with your vows, with speeches, or personal words.

I visit the venue in advance to work out the layout and how it would work with the ceremony, and liaise with them where necessary. I can make contact with photographers, ushers, and family members to explain their roles, so more involved than your usual celebrant!

I am available for contact with you throughout the process so that you feel assured that you are getting what you desire.

On the day of your ceremony, I work closely with the venue to make sure that everything is set up perfectly. I prepare a sacred space (preferably outside, but can do so inside too), and make it truly beautiful with seasonal flora and fauna in keeping with any colour schemes, where possible. I can also inform musicians /bands when they need to start and stop playing.

I then welcome you to the space and perform your individual ceremony alongside you, with your friends and family watching, or in complete privacy if this is what you wish for. I will have printed out any words that you or others need to say on personal cards and will be able to prompt if the excitement gets the better of you or them!

Once the ceremony is complete, I will close the space and make it beautiful for everyone to enjoy.

The service I provide is not legal, but is binding.

Happy happy Autumn Equinox!
This is a time when night and day are of equal length, dark and light, masculine and feminine.
From now, darkness begins to defeat the light and the cycle of the world nears completion. ... The sap of trees return to their roots deep in the earth, changing the leaves to fire - orange, red and gold.
This is a time of rest after the harvest, a time to complete projects, let go of what is no longer needed, leading to a time of reflection and peace. Why not celebrate with your family and friends, go for a walk, plant bulbs or try this Autumnal ritual, perfect for releasing the past, clearing negative beliefs or feelings and getting ready to welcome in the new.
Supplies:
· Assorted Dried or fresh herbs (any will do, you can even use herbal tea) · Water Bowl · 1 Candle: white, yellow, green, brown, orange or red · Your favorite crystal · Pen and paper
1. Find a quiet place to do this ritual where you can’t be disturbed. Light the candle and place it next to your bowl of water.
2. Meditate holding your crystal for a few minutes to help clear and release your mind. Take 5 deep breaths in and out.
3. Place your herbs into the water. You can get creative here and use herbal teas like chamomile etc. just make sure you empty them out from the tea bag.
4. Use your finger and stir the herb water around in a deosil (clockwise) direction 5 times to generate some energy.
5. Take your pen and paper and write down what you want to release in your life.
6. State what you want to release out loud 3 times. Fold the paper up and place it into the water.
7. Swirl the water around again with your finger either 3, 7 or 9 times. Watch how the paper gets soggier and soggier.
8. Take the bowl and hold it up against your hearts centre. When you feel ready, state out loud “I release this” and dump the water out. You can dump the water outside, in the sink or in the bath.
9. Throw the piece of paper away. Discard the herbs in the garden or outside.
10. Keep the candle burning for as long as possible (don’t leave unattended).
Follow your intuition and your own guidance when conducting these rituals, they are designed to be simple so you can adapt them anyway that feels right to you.
