I am a Ofsted Registered Childminder working with an Assistant. I am based in Wyke Regis /Rodwell area of Weymouth. I offer a babysitting service too.

My name is Marianne Barker an Ofsted Registered childminder, rated OUTSTANDING in my latest OFSTED inspection (January 2017). I work with an Assistant.

Open weekdays Monday-Thursday, weekends and offer night care on request from age 0 to 13.

I have been childminding since April 2013 and am a member of the Forest School. Apart from playing, reading and 'getting ready to go to School', we go out for daily walks, trips to the Woods, Sea Life, the Beach, Abbotsbury Farm, Swannery, Monkey World, have regular visits to a Care Home for the elderly and grow vegetables in my secure garden, to name a few activities.
I promote my home care and the great outdoors in a way it is nurturing and educating. Please note I am NOT a babysitter but an Early Years Educator.

A little bit about myself. . .
I was born in Amsterdam, Holland and moved to England in1990. I worked as an Au Pair in Canterbury in 1982 for two years, and always loved the English charm, fish and chips and scones.
I married to an English man, and have two grown up, lovely, independent children, aged 24 and 22. I am a trained (in Holland) Practice and Maternity Nurse.

I have always helped out as a volunteer at my children's school at Wyke and have worked as a Teacher Support Assistant for the past 5 1 /2 years working, not only with special needs, but with children from the age of 3 up to 13. I am a fully qualified advanced swimming teacher, baby and Toddler swimming teacher, Synchronised swimming coach /teacher and used to teach for a local school.

I hold a Level 3 Diploma in Childcare, Paediatric First Aid and done many more courses and work on continue to keep up to date with changes and relevant courses.

I found Marianne to be a wonderful child minder with very good understanding of the needs of my seven month old. . She encouraged appropriate play was able to be fully adaptable to his energy levels. She was able to provide me childcare at short notice and at antisocial weekend times.
