If I could put 0 stars I would!! Absolutely disgusting service! This pub is horrendous! The staff is awful! Even though this page blocks a 1* review because they don’t want bad publicity well here goes... I was called a slag in this pub because I wouldn’t entertain some man with drugs sitting around his nose so yes I did grab the man and yes there was a kick off but this pub blamed my partner for standing up for me! They’ve barred him, put him on pubwatch� & since served him a drink and when a drink has been spilt told him he’s barred and if Jane was there he wouldn’t be allowed in... your doing your job wrong in the first instance but we as a family don’t want to drink here, the more people we speak to the more people tell us it’s shit� shoddy staff, shoddy management & horrible place!!
I had my first take away roast from here today it was so tasty and we will defiantly order again and the potions are huge
Had a lovely time at the barley on with my daughter it was a lovely and friendly atmosphere we had something to eat and it was very tasty thank you xx
Had a fab night in here last night. Nice crowd and friends staff. Even took my shoes if to be rid of heals and my feet stayed clean. Very impressed lol
Good tasty food, get plenty of meat and have what veg you like. Menu has very good selection and is also very good. Would recommend eating/drinking here.
Always a friendly welcome, great atmosphere, fantastic DJ on Saturday night, the best place to go in Runcorn!

bar staff are rude and horrendous after serving someone, to then tell them there barred but its ok if jayne isnt in there or tracy doesnt know.....what kind of behaviour is that!! stay away best option
Tried to order a delivery to widnes only to be told I won’t get it for 4 hours as it will be last in the list I find it highly disgraceful tbh I have ordered plenty and never ever waited 4 hours in my life busy or not that’s a joke won’t ever be ordering again if they cat cater for what they advertise then they shouldn’t be advertising as it’s false advertising
The attitude of some of the older bar staff is appalling. Blatantly ignorant, miserable and rude. Very unpleasant place these days x �
Ordered my food at 12.30 today to be delivered at 4.30 and it arrives at 5.55 absolutely stone cold. I rang up at 5 to be told that they were sorry there had been delivery issues and were Plating up and sending right away.
The mash is solid and the chicken is like rubber.. it's all very tasteless.. it was only made bearable by the amount of mint sauce I chucked all over it..
I tried calling up again to complain.. but they didn't answer.
Safe to say I won't be ordering again if this is the standard of food they send out... shocking
Not one to complain but i ordered my meal at 2.20 and its only just arrived now at 4.45. Sorry thats way too long and its cold so wont be ordering again
I have rang up the barley, we have ordered large breakfast box, waited 3hrs, we only live around the corner, have been ringing, nobody is answering the phone.. first and last time... awful experience, will be getting my breakfast box at dinner time at this rate.
