Barn Fisheries Description
There are two lakes on this fishery. Which are available on a day ticket, which will be collected from your peg.
The first lake is a mature lake with an island in the middle, and a good selection of pegs available to the right as you are looking from the car park there are four pegs set up in a canal fashion and you will regularly see the bubbles of the larger fish patrolling the bottom. On sunny days you will be able to catch the odd wary Carp on a bit of floating bread. There are a lot of methods that work on this lake in particular luncheon meat is a good catcher, with maggots catching you a good selection of Roach (2lb + ) and Rudd (1½ lb + ). Also in the lake are a selection of Common and Mirror Carp up to and in excess of 26lb, Tench to over 8lb, Bream to 7lb + , Perch to 3lb + , a few Sturgeon of 7lb + and the odd surprise Ghost Carp and Chub. This lake also has pegs that are suitable for the less abled angler.
The second lake is a working progress and has been dug out into a match lake, even with light work going on anglers are catching good bags of small Carp, Roach, and the popular F1’s, with an occasional appearance of a larger Carp of which there a few up to approx 10lb.
There are no long walks and with car parking very close to the pegs, fishing these lakes is ideal for any capability, including novice and is in a good family setting with space for picnics.
Young anglers are welcome, however all children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
