Barnsley Loves Music started out as a hub for music lovers in the Barnsley area in early 2015; a social media presence where people could stay tuned for news of gigs, events and other musical goings on. While all of those things are still on the agenda, the philosophy expanded when some recent music store closures left a void that needed to be filled.

The goal was to provide the local music community with a place to pick up the latest album by their favourite artist, supply musicians of all levels from beginners to pros with the gear that they need from brands they can trust and give people a space to share upcoming music news and events all under one roof.

Out of this melting pot formed the independent music retailer that stands before you; both a bricks and mortar store situated in the heart of Barnsley and an e-commerce website catering to a national music community.

People are important in this project; tell us what you want, what you like, what you're interested in. . . any suggestions that anybody may have for the store or the site are all welcome. Our aim is to be a centrepiece for the community rather than just another shop trying to dictate what people buy.
