Quirky, colourful and nice bar🌸Lovely food and Friendly staff.

User

Loved the bright colours used in decorating the place, and the staff was very attentive. I don’t know what that slushie cocktail they served yesterday was, but it was bloody good. I'd never had lime and soda before, but I'm now hooked. Oh, and let's not forget those long doughnut things with the Nutella dip - I could have eaten miles of those. I wasn't particularly fond of the dip that came with the chips, but other than that, Barrio was a great place, and if I ever return to Shoreditch - first time I'd ever been in the area - I'm coming back...that's a promise!

User

Love the place and love the concept of this resto... highly recommended... great staff as well...

User

Good vibes, great cocktails, highly recommend

User

Came here with friends and had the best experience, ate the chicken popcorn and nachos recommended by our lovley waitress Alex... her service was exceptional and topped off a great meal followed by really tasty cocktails...service was speedy and the music very cool... will be back...!!!!

User

colourful place so the pictures come out beautiful, nice staff ,good food ,cocktails are good but toilets isn’t clean

User

Great bar with live music and a good atmosphere overall. Monday night is brasilian night w/samba. Great night to shakeout the cobwebs 🎶💃🏾🕺🎉

User

Went there for a colleagues leaving do, never been before so was happy to go somewhere recommended. Bar prices are ridiculous ..... £8.50 for a sprit and mixer. Music got better as the evening went on. The biggest gripe I have are the security / door staff....KD Security a very unprofessional and rude bunch of people who wouldn't know how to be polite and friendly if their wages depended on it. Went to take a drink outside to the smoking area and was stopped in an aggressive way by a member of door staff who ripped the drink out of my hand and told me no drinks were allowed outside. If this is the case after a certain time at least have a sign up. Was told to leave the drink on a shelf by the door whilst outside, so I stood out of the way in the corridor to finish my drink before going outside......honestly who would leave their drink unattended in a bar these days anyway and then go back to it a short while later. Whilst finishing my drink a few other people had to leave their drinks on the shelf to go outside and almost immediately a member of staff with a bucket came along and scooped all the drinks up to throw them away. I told him they had only just been put down there to go outside but he just shrugged his shoulders and threw the drinks in the bucket away.

Took 35 mins to get our coats and this wasn't even when the club was closing. The door staff are a disgrace to this place, throwing their weight around as if to provoke trouble.

I work closely with a door security firm at festivals who are the nicest and politest team of people with excellent manners with the general public and as a result of their good manners rarely have the need to get all rufty tufty with them as they show respect and get a better reception from the public when giving instructions.

This place seriously needs to sort itself out

Had a very negative experience getting in yesterday when we were charged for entry at 9.25pm despite me highlighting that the clock said it was not 9.30. When I asked they said 'sorry there's nothing we can do the tills change a automatically' which wasn't true because they still had a lady collecting money just past the door. They also said they had been charging for the past 15 minutes which wasn't true as I had just seen my friends go in who hadn't been charged!!! I think it is really unfair on customers to state it's free before 9.30 and then charge just to make extra money - absolutely no other reason you would do that. We rushed to get there and this was not a good start to an evening at a bar we regularly come to and spend a lot of money in.

User

Beautiful location and limited but good food, nice selection and well presented cocktails. Service was absolutely awful below any expectations; we were in 11 for a birthday party, we usually don’t complain about service as each one of us has worked in hospitality for some time and understand how difficult is running a busy place with different target of customers.

We were served from at least 4 different waiters, delays and wrong orders were expected at this point. The floor staff wasn’t attentive at all, no water served and at one point we decided to eat with our naked hands; the cutlery came out from nowhere when we were almost done.

The most shocking and funny part of the evening was when I asked a Southern Comfort and lemonade and the waitress goes “I never heard about it!”, following the same reaction from another waiter who at least went to check with the bar tenders, that confirmed how under trained and inexperienced the staff was. Music selection is amazing for who love old school hip hop, rnb, caribbean and reggaeton. Unfortunately the dj was just playing random and wasn’t able to build a happy dancing floor, unless you were drunk obviously. Overall was fine, we took it easy, but we won’t go again. Service charge was removed

User

Yesterday we had a birthday party about 11 people,

Location quiet nice, lovely music and food was nice, but service was orribile. We been served from at least 3 waiters, the first waiters called an Italian college thinking we didn’t speak English and he didn’t want to serve us.

Everyone order different food, they were so confuse with our orders, who order first has the food at the end basically, I order a plate as a few other my friends, they received first and I told theme twice that a was still waiting for same plate and the end after 40 min they said they finished that plate.

Very orribile expirence, I won’t back again because it that.

User

Very bad service at door, 1 hour cue waiting, the people go out, but the cue don't progress. I don't understand, you don't want my money?

User

The door staff has absolutely atrocious manners, he threatened us because we wouldn’t leave an hour before closing time. Really upset my friend on her 30th, very intimidating over nothing. I would not recommend it, what kind of experience do I get for a £10 G&T when the staff threatens me?

User

The bouncer should work in front of a barn, not a club. He didn’t understand basic English and shouted incomprehensible comments at people on the street. Shame!

User

Lots of reviews on here saying the door staff lack manners which sadly I have experienced for myself. I was having a great birthday until I met these clowns. To the manager of barrio Shoreditch - your door staff are rude, inpolite, and are not the image that you should want associated with your name. Be advised, stay away from this place

User

I would not recommend. My group received outrageous treatment throughout the night. They harassed us to put our bags in the cloakroom for hours. When we decided we had had enough and left, one of the securities assaulted one of us outside to grab their drink. They did not tell us we could not take drinks out, just proceeded to use force from the start. The so-called manager was unhelpful, refused to identify the security who assaulted us. Don't go, not worth it.

User

I came here a few weeks ago and enjoyed my night so decided to book an area for my birthday. Obviously it's difficult to get exact numbers when people drop in and out all the time, but I booked for 10 people thinking that would be a safe bet. I thought we'd have a decent sized area and any people more than that could stand up. Unfortunately last night completely ruined my opinion of this place which is a shame because the bar staff are lovely. The woman on the door however, is clearly on a power trip and I found her to be extremely rude. You'd have thought we were trying to get entry to Buckingham Palace. Four of my friends were turned away because I had 'exceeded my numbers' and they need to know 'the exact number of people'. Even when I was told that they'd let in two more people and the rest would have to queue, they went back on this word and refused to acknowledge that that was what was said. I saw plenty of others people let in, including a guy who I saw doing a line of something in the queue. I had spare spaces at my table and there were no rules about when the bar was 'open to the general public' last time I came here, nor was this communicated when I booked. They kept advising that my friends could come in when doors were open 'fully' at 10, then half 10, then 11...it was ridiculous. I ended up leaving after an hour and a half and my experience almost ruined my birthday. Barrio needs to sort out what their policies are, clearly communicate them and stick to them. But more importantly hire a door person who doesn't talk down to customers with extreme disrespect and plain rudeness.

User

Having been here previously I enjoyed the atmosphere, music and drinks and so suggested that we have leaving drinks here for a colleague. Unfortunately no table space, but no worry... guest-list is available. 2 days after booking, on the day of the leaving drinks, 4.5 hours before we arrive, I get a call to get the names of people on the guest-list and straight away told that there are not enough women in the group and that I need to find more girls?!?

Just to be clear.....the group is made up of 25+ year old's with some of us touching on 30. We are not kids. Furthermore when I booked and was asked if the group was mixed (which it was) at no point did they ask what the guy/girl ratio was and that it was there policy to say no to groups with more men than women.

Whilst I get it is there choice to say who they do/don't want in....this verges on on sexism. By verge it pretty much smacks you in the face.

Furthermore....this is poor, poor, poor, customer service.

User

Awful food, cold and tasteless. Cocktails were filled with ice, so barely any drink in them. Service was appalling. Didn’t even complain as we just wanted to get out of there. I will definitely be avoiding this venue in the future.
