If you're caring for a loved one and you'd like some advice about managing their affairs, this is a great opportunity.
Our King of the Carpet Skittles, Dudley, had a bit of competition for his crown last week.
We couldn't possibly say who won but we can say they both had a fantastic time! #tenpin #bowling #care #livelifetothefull
This is a beautiful little film showing the power of #pets. Here's Mooshu, a dedicated cat who's always there to offer a paw of support 🐈
Who doesn't love a jigsaw?
Puzzles can be a very calming activity for all of us as we watch the beautiful pictures come together.
It also gives our residents a sense of achievement and satisfaction (and luckily there wasn't a piece missing!)
It may be 10 days away but we are making plans for a romantic Valentine's lunch 💕❤️💝
We would like to invite you to come and enjoy a lovely meal with your loved one on Friday 14th February.
We always look forward to Tuesday mornings at Churnet Lodge.
The lovely volunteers (both four-legged 🐕 and two legged!!) from Pets As Therapy come to see us.
The animals offer quiet company and stroking them helps to calm any anxious feelings. And it's a very special time for the dog owners living with us.
Doing the every day things like washing up makes Barrowhill Hall really feel like home.
Gone are the days where residents in care homes are prevented from doing anything for themselves.
Of course we make sure people are safe, but being able to do these kinds of tasks helps to give residents a sense of purpose and value, which we all need for our wellbeing.
If you're looking for care for someone you love, you might not be too sure about the kind of care they need.
We offer dementia care, nursing care, residential, respite and day care. So what's the right option for your family?
You'll find all the details on our website. Plus, you can give us a call on the number on our 'About' page or pop in to see us.
Our mystery tour took in some of the beautiful scenery we are lucky enough to have close to our home in East Staffordshire.
The end destination wasn't bad either! just look at this fantastic lunch we enjoyed at The Raddle Inn!
Did you know...?
We don't just offer single rooms at Barrowhill Hall. We also have studio apartments with a bedroom and private lounge/dining area.

Where do you think we're going? 🤔❓
If you're visiting the hospital this afternoon and you'd like some information on #dementia and support available for your family, you'll find it from Approach for Positive Dementia Support.
This a beautiful love story with a less than happy ending because the couple couldn't live in the same care home at the end of their lives.
But there are homes like ours where we can cater for couples in different stages of health or dementia. If your family is facing this situation, give us a call.
It' a very interesting thought that there is no real evidence behind #BlueMonday
We can feel low at any time so it's good advice to organise that cup of tea and chat with a friend, neighbour or colleague.
Especially if you make it a regular date so you both have something to look forward to (and make sure there's cake too 🍰🧁)
There's no end to the range of things there are to do here at Barrowhill Hall.
There were some very evident golf skills ⛳️ on display yesterday during our games afternoon!
Sports like this, plus quoits and beanbag target practice, are all enjoyable but engaging too, encouraging people to use their skills.
... Our thanks to regular volunteer, Pat, who joined in the fun.

Thought we'd share a bit more of the fun we had with Becca Gee Vocalist. Fun, laughter, friendship as well as high quality care.
Our staff 'care' in every sense of the word.
This wonderful comment was sent to our manager, Matthew, which we wanted to share with you.
Your feedback is very important to us so always feel free to talk to us.
Music 🎵🎶 has the power to reach people with #dementia way beyond that of just talking.
It helps people to make connections, brings back comforting memories of times associated with favourite songs 🎙 - but it's also a chance to get moving, have fun and dance! 🤩
Our thanks to the amazing Becca Gee Vocalist and our staff for making it such a great afternoon yesterday!
