Well what a fantastic start to 2019 we have had here at Basics!! Our showcases are all well underway and already looking amazing!! It has been lovely to welcome so many new faces and all the staff at Basics are so impressed with how hard your are all working!

Saturday's Rising Star of the Month: Gracie Heaton!🏆 Awarded for, working so hard in rehearsals and always knowing all of her dance routines and songs! Well done Gracie!
Saturday’s 12 noon Little Star of the Month: Hattie Garner!🏆 Awarded for, impressing your teachers every week and slotting into your new group so well! Well done Hattie!
Saturdays Shooting star of the Month was awarded for, showing great energy and being a pleasure to teach since graduating from shining stars!
Monday's Little Star of the Month: Lily-rose!🏆 Awarded for, taking on board instructions and always performing your songs to the best of your ability! Well done Lily-Rose
Monday's Rising Star of the Month: Claire Swale!🏆 Awarded for, putting so much enthusiasm and character into her performance each week and always having a big smile on my face! Well done Claire!
Wednesday's Little Star of the Month: Hugo Taylor-Firth!🏆 Awarded for, working super hard and always having a beautiful smile on his face! Well done Hugo!

As you all may know, we are running our Summer School from Monday 29th July - Friday 2nd August, and this year our theme is Mary Poppins returns!🌂👜♥️ We have already had a fantastic response and almost half of our spaces have been filled!

As we said goodbye to 2018 and welcomed 2019, some embarked on new exciting challenges. Basics certainly has plenty of exciting plans a head and that too can be said for our very own Mr Jack Herbert.

Once again the production team was blown away during today’s Cats auditions. The talent that we have seen, coupled with the very obvious research into characters, has resulted in some delightful and unique interpretations.
Each and every one of you has achieved something great today. Very well done.
Deliberations still continue since competition was so fierce. We will announce parts next week.

Wow! What a fantastic 2018 we had here at Basics! From our fabulous showcases throughout the year, our senior production of ‘Les Misérables’, and finishing with our juniors show ‘30 years and more’! The staff are so proud of the improvement in all of our students and we have had so much fun with you all this past year!

CONGRATULATIONS
Harry Cross from our Shooting Stars group is performing in the professional tour of Doctor Dolittle at the Lowry this Christmas.
A brand new production of Doctor Dolittle starring our very own HARRY CROSS from Shooting Stars, Harry Potter's Mark Williams and Corrie stars Vicky Entwistle and Brian Capron opens at The Lowry on Tue 11 Dec!
... We are absolutely thrilled to announce that our very own HARRY CROSS (Shooting Stars) has been cast in the leading role of TOMMY STUBBINS in the new UK & IRELAND TOUR of “Doctor Dolittle The Musical”.
Harry will join the new production which is part of the 50th anniversary celebrations of the original film.
Harry has achieved great things since joining Basics and playing the role of 'Tam' in our production of Miss Saigon back in 2013. I was privileged to watch Harry earlier in the year play the role of 'Grisha' in the Royal Exchange/Bristol Old Vic co-production of “The Cherry Orchard”. Last year Harry was in Wind in the Willows (UK Tour), Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (UK Tour), Victoria (ITV) and is filming for a new international feature film (to be announced)!
Not only is Harry full of professionalism and dedication to his craft but he is a polite, courteous and a true team player at Basics and what is special about this young man is that his feet are still firmly on the ground. Harry is without doubt a credit to himself, his parents and of course Basics Junior Theatre School.
Harry will be performing in our junior show 30 years & More on Friday 8th and Saturday 9th December and then the following week at the Lowry in this amazing production.
What an amazing achievement! Everyone at Basics wishes Harry all the very best for his 12 performances in yet another professional show.
