Space Detectives is a fun-filled hour of high energy interactive science suitable for children aged 4 to 12 years.
Some books have gone missing from our library and we have reason to suspect that it was the work of someone or something from another planet in our galaxy! Atomic Anthony needs your help to investigate, search for clues and track d...own the culprit. 👽
Be warned - this could be a dangerous mission. You will need to examine some hazardous liquids and you may need to travel to outer space, so floating around in zero-gravity, as well as building and flying a rocket will be some of your tasks. 🚀
Booking is required for this out of this world adventure presented by Fizz Pop Science.
There is a non-refundable booking fee of £2.50 per ticket for this event.

Basildon Library is looking for volunteers aged 14 or over to help children develop their enjoyment of reading through Space Chase, Summer Reading Challenge 2019. 🌌👽
Every year thousands of children across the county come to the library to take part in a fun reading activity during the summer holidays. The challenge is to read 6 books and their reward is stickers and a medal. 🏅
... As a volunteer you'll help library staff to:
• Join children to the Summer Reading Challenge • Talk to children (mainly aged 4 to 11) about their books • Hand out stickers and rewards.
You’ll have fun and gain new skills - and it’s great for your CV!
We are looking for volunteers who can commit to a minimum of 18 hours from Saturday 20 July to Monday 2 September 2019.
