Total shambles this hospital.Get your name wrong even though you tell them, tell them you have allergies and they ignore you, get your marital status wrong, don't phone your family when you are discharged, get all your medical information wrong, when the doctor says you don't need a certain treatment they say you said you refused to have it and they let you sit in pain for hours and when you phone the ward the staff they are very vague and don't seem to know who they have on the ward and what their treatment is or has been or if they have even seen a doctor.
And when you make a complaint to the Hospital they say they don't want to know unless you give them all your detail so they can blacklist you for complaining if you need medical treatment find somewhere else

Waited four weeks for urgent scan ,got seen in 4 weeks.then waited 3 hours for it to be done ,there were about 8 elderly patients waiting on trolleys ,plus people from A and E plus people with appointments.staff were good and rushed off their feet .think it's down to lack of organisation by the hospital.many people had to leave before being seen .and sitting there with water dripping through the ceiling .cattle truck comes to mind

I spent a morning at the day surgery unit for a diagnostic laparoscopy. I was incredibly nervous upon arrival at 8am but was immediately seen to by staff and reassured I would be safe and looked after. I was treated very respectfully with care and dignity, nurses were chatty and polite, surgeons and anaesthetists were very kind and professional. I soon felt at ease and was taken through to theatre promptly. I woke up with nurses tending to me and other staff members even passing through who said "hello". A very welcoming environment. Thank you so much for everything, I'm really grateful to every single member of staff on hand throughout my procedure.

Arrived at 3am. Staff are lovely. Have found a nice chair with a plug socket for my phone. Hot drink and snack machines take card and free wifi provided. Overall I've found the A&E department very hospitable.

My 91 year old mother was treated with respect and care by the staff in both A&E and SRU where she stayed for a few days after a fall and a fractured femur.
She had several scans and has been referred on to Brentwood Community Hospital for rehabilitation.
Although there was a very long wait for scans in A&E, this was understandable as there were clearly more serious trauma victims arriving in the ward and a shortage of nurses to help swiftly with less serious needs such as bed pans. Everyone was working at full pelt, purposeful, calm and knowledgeable.
Thank you!

My mother who has dementia recently had the misfortune to have a two and a half week stay at your hospital. During that time, she stopped eating and drinking, lost quite a lot of weight and generally declined and of course, it goes without saying that although she could walk before she went in, she can no longer do so. Does the doctor who recommended that my mum have her food and fluids withdrawn and be put into a side room to die KNOW that a symptom of oral thrush is that the person will be reluctant to eat and drink? You sent mum home with oral thrush and on the day she wad discharged a nurse said to me that she had "a white tongue" which of course is another symptom of oral thrush and she didn't know that either?! Disgraceful!

Far from person centred or compassionate.
I sadly suffered a miscarriage and was dealt with by a consultant who didn't even know my history and that I was a mother twice already. The purpose of my visit was to confirm I was ok now not to be insulted by questioning if I was even pregnant in the first place.
I should know that I was pregnant and personally suffered the miscarriage.
From the gp surgery right through to the hospital visit I'm disgusted at how poorly patients can be treated.

On the phone 20 mins in all trying to get through to a & e eventually was answered by a very rude woman. I said I was enquiring about my son who was taken into there earlier today and she asked me my father's name!! I said my son and told her his name. She said he hasn't seen a doctor yet he's only been here 2 hours!! I reiterated what she said and she replied he's only been here 2 hours in an annoyed tone and put the phone down on me. I didn't get her name but I will be making am official complaint. Dreadful place. I am in Kent otherwise I would have gone there myself

I tried to phone the xray department 12 times in one morning and never managed to reach anyone. I have been waiting 6 weeks to receive an appointment date to carry our a CT scan on a possible cancerous growth. Is there actually anyone in that department?

*** I finally got through this afternoon and I would just like to add that the person I spoke to was incredibly helpful!

I went to the A&E this morning, the waiting time was good, but when I was received by the nurse something very wrong happened.
I've got an issue with my private parts, and she was going to visit me (she was wearing the gloves ecc.) but when I told her I was in my period, she said to me she would not visit me anymore. When I asked her why, she told me she wasn't visit me just because of that.
The issue I've got is in the external parts, so there should not be any problem to have an accurate view by the hospital staff.
Even If she was aware of that, she said I could go back home, just wash myself and come back If I was feeling worse.
I could barely stand on my feet, but I was forced to go back home, without any answer, without any treatment, but with shame and pain.
I'm writing this today, because as a nurse, I know how much human dignity and safety should be preserved, and I hope this is not going to happen to anybody else in the future.

I will see my GP and I will ask for a gynecologic review, and it will take one-two weeks to have an appointment.

If I will have any more problem before that day, who I should ask for help? Who I should blame for it?
