A recent Stonewall survey [published November 2018] estimates that one in five LGBT+ people are not out to any healthcare professional about their sexual orientation when seeking general medical care, and one in seven LGBT+ people have avoided treatment for fear of discrimination.
Despite the progress made towards LGBT+ equality in recent years, many LGBT+ people still face significant barriers to leading healthy, happy and fulfilling lives. With high rates of poor mental health and challenges when accessing healthcare services a contributing factor.
To begin to increase awareness of these issues, and to help improve the experiences of healthcare for LBGT+ patients, our staff wear NHS rainbow badges. 🏳️‍🌈

Pharmacists are qualified healthcare professionals offering expert clinical advice.

We are moving forward with the planning of phase one reconfiguration to provide the best possible care for the 1.2 million local population that we serve.
These redesign plans will bring together our group’s vascular, radiology and urology emergency services as well as some elective urology and orthopaedic services. By sharing best practice and resources, patients across the region will benefit from the highest quality care we can provide.
For patients this will mean:... • simplified care plans, with fewer delays and cancellations • emergency care when it’s most needed • more ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ specialist care made available • more staff to care for them
