Bassenthwaite Lakeside Lodges

Today I had one of the best afternoons. The Park sponsors one of the races of Bass week. I was invited to start the race which we sponsor. So a big thank you to Mark for arranging this for me and huge thank you to Dee.Will Alex and Herb to tried in vain to explain the machinations to a novice like me. The picture is of Herb counting down for me (bad hair day I blame the wind) to press the 'button' to start the race. There was so many different craft on the water and some of the youngsters I am sure had just started school....they were amazing. So thank you all who took part it was fantastic to experience this on the water.

All the staff at the park love to meet our doggie visitors. yesterday we had one i have never seen before. Kia is a Japenese Shiba Inu such a pretty girl Thanks to her owner who gave her permission for me to share this with you

Hello all just a quick update for you. Our office is open and all is absolutely fab. The new office furniture looks amazing we are all delighted with it. it is the most beautiful day here..the sun is shining although is was pretty cold this morning. The park is starting to show its true colours. Nature has a strange way of magically 'rising from the flood'. This is also to wish you all a great summer. Best wishes Chris

Hello everyone I am writing this on the most beautiful sunny day. The lake is like glass and the snowdrops and daffies are making an appearance. Because of the frosty nights the sky is midnight black and is littered with stars. All is going according to plan and the new furniture is actually arriving in the next week or so. All the guys and staff are really pulling out all the stops to make sure all is ready. I would like to thank all involved for their extremely hard work it is more than appreciated.... and for keeping me sane!. Chris

All at the park is progressing ahead of schedule which is great I am having the exciting time of choosing some new furniture and fittings. Oooo decisions...decisions.. the best of it all is the boss has let me loose with the purse strings,,,great for me not too good for him. We will be open on schedule for holidays on 25th March with everything looking 'spick and span' looking forward to seeing you all then Chris

Hello everyone..just to keep you up to date with all that is happening. The park is starting to look a little better and things are progressing. When I originally posted the message below it was still early days. it has become very obvious that the park will not re-open for holiday clients until Good Friday. All the staff on the park are working so hard in what has been a very challenging time.. I don't know what i would have done without them. They have my utmost respect for their loyalty and unbelievably hard work. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has sent messages via phone and email and those who have visited to offer their help they are all truly appreciated. it just goes to prove how many of you love the park. All the very best to you all and I hope to see at the park soon Chris

As mentioned before, the park will unfortunately be shut til the end of January. With that in mind, could anyone who has a booking for January who hasn't already been in contact with us, please contact us by phone immediately, as we currently have no computers with any information regarding bookings due to the damage of the floods. As you are all aware there are many areas of the county that have been severely damaged by the recent floods. Unfortunately the park is a casualty. We have had to make the sad decision to close the park until the end of January. If you have booked via Hoseasons then they will or will have already been in contact with you directly. Bookings via the park please contact 017687 76641. Telephone lines are also down on the park and have had to be redirected. If there is no answer p...lease leave a message and you will be contacted after 4pm. I would like to say a huge thank you to all who were on the park last weekend, your support and understanding was truly overwhelming. Also a huge thank you to all of the owners who have been on the phones, email and have even taken the time to drive to offer help. As always, you never cease to be there for me. My dad always says that you never get more on your plate than you can handle. I just wish it was only turkey!!! On that note I would like to wish everyone a very Happy Christmas. Please spare a thought for all those who have lost their homes and more importantly treasured possessions which can never be replaced. Very best wishes, Chris.

Three new Victory lodges arrive at Bassenthwaite. A two bed lodge and three bed lodge will be available for sale. Both lodges command a great view of the lake. Lodges for sale come completely fully furnished have a timber deck to enjoy the views along with BBQ and patio furniture. Our lodges are delivered and lifted onto their base by Lawsons of Cockermouth..they are the wizards of transport. Bob sites them and then John and his guys from Skelton joinery build the decks and then finished off by Colin. We have a great team. The lodges are available to view please make an appointment with our office

Last sunday all the staff at Bassenthwaite were at Greenhill Hotel to celebrate Di's retirement. We all had a great time with bubbly and high tea. Di has been with us for twelve years so it is sad to see her go she will be sadly missed by us all. We all wish her and hubby Jim a long happy,healthy retirement. Di would like to say thankyou for cards, gifts and messages they were greatly appreciated

stayed in lodge 65 it was more than an home away from home, it had everything you could ask for inc a picnic bag and rug to sit on outside. The hot tub was an added luxury and was so good staff are so friendly we will def be back soon xx

Such a lovely, place. Just checked out today we stayed in lodge 31. Everything you need in the lodges and even some prosecco ready for our arrival! The staff were really great and put our decorations up that we had posted for our friends birthday surprise. We found the beds really comfy and the hot tub was perfect!

Stayed in lodge no 4 with friends for my birthday. The prosecco on Arrival was a lovely touch. Couldn't fault the lodge it had everything you needed and the Hot tub was amazing. Will definitely be returning later in the year 🖒🖒�

Stayed in lodge 51, if it wasn't for the amazing view and the hotub I couldn't give it a 5 star, the lodge on its own does need a little tlc however I'd still return knowing not to expect the modern interior hoseasons advertise! hotub cover does block a amazing view so we had to move it carefully to avoid any damage. Beautiful place, wish I lived there!!

Stayed in Blencathra lodge over the weekend for 3 nights. It was absolutely lovely, beautiful views, peaceful & cosy. The Christmas tree, table setting & welcome hamper were lovely touches and completely unexpected so thank you very much.

We had a wonderful stay and I can promise I will be returning in the future! �

Second time me and my boyfriend have been now this place is lovely and the views from the lodges are beautiful. We stayed in lodge 31 that had a hot tub it was so private positioned alongside the woods and had a beautiful view of the lake it was amazing, the lodge was so clean on arrival it was like brand new. The staff are really friendly will definitely be going back again and will highly recommend this place.

Just leaving from a lovely weekend here. Staff friendly and welcoming on reception. Nice little touches like having binoculars, picnic bag and blanket available if required........oh and of course the prosecco on arrival �. A definite recommendation and we would go back......no hesitation

Just done Friday to Monday here for my surprise 30th birthday, all arranged by my sister. Would just like to say the lodge we had was gorgeous, really good size n was lovely n clean, the decking area was lovely too with the hot tub n garden set n BBQ.( perfect for summer) would definitely recommend this site to people. Thank you as well for the chocolates and prosecco �

Just arrived home after a wonderful relaxing break. The lodge, Thirlmere, was so clean and well equipped. Such a beautiful place. Thank you for the prosecco and for welcoming us and our dog Dotty, we will definitely be back

I would recommend this place 100%. The area is naturally stunning located on Bassenthwaite Lake. The accommodation was spotless with all the modern amenities you’d need for a relaxing break. The hot tub was an added bonus and a great way to unwind in the evening. A short distance from Bassenthwaite village and Keswick for pub lunches and a spot of shopping too. Lovely, clean, quiet lodges, very relaxing �.

I stayed here for 3 nights for our mini moon and was left a bottle of champers be a box of chocs with some flowers which was a nice touch very clean and hot tub and view were to die for the only thing I would say is the jacuzzi bath wasn't working which we were a little disappointed about but apart from that was an amazing break as newly married couple x

I have just got back from here, it was fab the views, lodge , little extras were amazing lodge was very clean , people and staff were lovely didn't want to come home lots to do and dog friendly iv booked a week away in Aug can't wait ��

Fantastic and lovely staff! We had an issue with our lock on the door but the staff sorted it in minutes. Thank you again for a lovely weekend away for my sisters 30th.

Can’t fault anything. Lodge is beautiful, comfy and warm with everything we need.

Bassenthwaite Lakeside Lodges are set in a peaceful corner of the Lakes. The surrounding beauty only enhances this tranquil spot yet is only a short drive to Keswick providing everything you need. The park land is kept beautifully, and is one of my favourite Lakeland holiday stays! Thank you!

Amazing. Absolutely nipping clean and luxurious. All the bedding and towels are new and in super condition. The lodge is in beautiful condition a d the hot tub well looked after. The table was set up beautifully with a bottle of prossecco and tub of quality street. Loving it. The staff are amazing. So kind, friendly and helpful.

Amazing! Views are beautiful. Endless walks, everything no more than 30 mins away. The lodge was perfect. We stayed in lodge 31 with view of the lake, with our little dog bobby with us. Bowls, blanket. Towel and treats provided for your dog. Bottle of prosecco for us which was very nice! The hot tub was lovely and relaxing ! We ate at the sun inn on the last night (dogs are welcome) only 6mins away and food was lovely with fast service. We especially loved the dishwasher since we don't have one at home lol! We got some bird seed for the feeder on our terrace and on the last morning a red squirrel visited us! It was beautiful �We will be back, thank you so much for a relaxing week.
