Bats are a vital part of our native wildlife but sadly they are still misunderstood and undervalued by many. Bats account for almost a third of all mammal species in the UK and are good indicators of the environment we all rely on. We need your help to achieve our vision of a world rich in wildlife where bats and people thrive together

Bat Story Circulating in the Media. We are aware that there are a number of articles circulating relating to an incident of a child coming into contact with a bat.

Anyone fancy taking one of these cuties home? Our cuddly brown long-eared bats all have slightly different faces (see image) so your bat will be unique. (note that none of them come with a bow, that's our very own Echo)

The bats were busy at Sydenham Hill Wood last night during a bat walk lead by Jo Ferguson (Built Environment Manager at BCT). Participants included English species champion MP for the common pipistrelle, Helen Hayes.

There’s a nature crisis in the UK. Plants and wildlife in our own backyards are under serious threat – a massive 40% of the UK’s species are in steep decline. That’s why we’re supporting the Backyard Nature campaign and helping to get ALL children to spend more time enjoying and protecting nature where they live.
