Went on the Sunday Jazz lunch cruise which was fantastic there was 8 of us celebrating 2 birthdays the waiter was wonderful even though he was busy he made us feel special the Jazz was great and all the food was delicious well worth the money would recommend it

User

Had the best time yesterday for lunch. Food was fab, Victoria our waitress was lovely. It was a really nice experience. I will be doing it again sometime soon. Only critique was the loudness of the sound system giving the run down of the sights.

User

Great afternoon on the bateaux river cruise sunday lunch great atmosphere friendly staff and nice food been on the dinner cruise aswell which i enjoyed more only because the thames looks beautifal when all lights are on love the thames at night

User

Excellent, far exceeded our expectations, the food, the service, second to none, and the pianist made it that extra bit special.... the views were awesome, and the upper viewing deck superb, if I could give more stars I would, highly recommended!!!

User

Did the 5 course Dinner cruise and had an amazing evening. The food was lovely the wine was lovely, our waitress Ann was frienly and attentive it was a little stuffy on board but a quick visit to the deck soon cooled us down. A great way to see all London‚Äôs landmarks!! Strongly recommend ūüėéūüėé

User

A treat for my dad. Absolutely perfect. The food was excellent, the service professional, the jazz a very good accompaniment and the river a pleasure. This is the 2nd time I have taken my dad and he has been most impressed on both occasions.

User

My 60th Birthday was fun but not totally impressed by circa 20 people being let on boat who were not part of my private party - it took 20 minutes for them to be removed with lots of input from myself and daughter. The staff didn't believe me when I said they are not my guests. This stopped me from interacting with my guests so spoilt first 30 minutes Food was good but service not the fastest or with the best communication.

The band were great. In summary a good evening but not perfect or stress free which I thought I was paying for.

User

I booked a family dinner cruise to celebrate my mother’s 60th Birthday and had requested different mains for 2 of our party as they did not eat the main course advertised online. I received confirmation of my booking but nothing to confirm that you could accommodate my menu requests, no reply to my fb message and I had to chase you up again via email to eventually get this confirmed. The menu on your website when I booked 3 weeks before our cruise was different to what we were served on the night (it is noted online that you reserve the right to change the menu but I would have expected to have at least received a courtesy email/phone call informing me of the changes so that I could check with everyone in our party that they ate something- if you eat anything then it’s a nice surprise but be warned the menus do change without notice!)

Regarding our evening, we all had a lovely time and were well looked after by our waiter, Jesus, he really did make our night. The entertainment and atmosphere were good, and dancing at the end was a nice end to the evening, the only negatives from the night were the portion sizes, they were tiny compared to other restaurants in London that we have dined at and for what we paid per head, and the fact our long table was very close to the long table behind us so 4 of our 8 guests were squashed in and couldn’t get up to use the toilet or get up to dance without all of them getting up to let each other out.

Overall a good evening, but not worthy of 5 stars as your communication with your customers could be improved on your booking side of things, and we don’t feel the portion sizes warrant the price per head, but the actual cruise, staff and entertainment were all very good. Nice treat for a special occasion, but don’t expect perfection!

User

We went on the lunch cruise Tuesday 5th June and unfortunately the service was diabolical!! We waited over 30 minutes to be asked if we wanted a drink which we had to ask a waiter a few times before our order was taken. Oh and the menu stated lamb and it was chicken! Overall was very disappointed

User

I didnt feel it was good value at all. There were 8 of us celebrating a 60th Birthday the waitress was only interested in taking our orders for drinks the tea was cold but however did make us another pot. But the food that came out was just 2 cake stands between 8 of us and not enough scones for us each to have one. However dont think we missed much as the scones that were provided were so small they fitted in every bodies mouth in one go! Very poor value and we were not the only ones complaining

User

Used the online booking system, paid and got a receipt and checked payment processed on my card. However, the status of my booking is shown as cancelled.

To try to put this right I've phoned - usually there is 8 or 9 in the queue and the count down from nine to 8 takes 5 minutes so Ive got a rough idea of how long i will be holding on. Ive tried messaging, the system says "generally a response within an hour". I have no waited over 16 hours and no response. I've tried other extensions, but the finance section is always unmanned.

All this, before I even know if my booking is honoured - customer service is a joke and tens of customers must be giving up on the booking process. Someone in management - get a grip.

Turned up this evening for my Saturday night big band cruise as a surprise celebration for our wedding anniversary with my Husband. As I’ve mentioned this was a surprise for my husband. I didn’t know it was going to be the worst surprise ever when I tried to check in and was told my cruise was cancelled!!!

Booked this in April for June 30th, is as told I should have been contacted.. never was. Reception read out correct email & phone number.

Affronted I ended up in floods of tears at this massive failed surprise. Had planned the whole day around this cruise I.e couldn’t get onto the London eye experience as wasn’t going to give us enough time to get to the cruise. Reception explained that basically the cruise was booked privately for a party that didn’t even take up a quarter of the boat. No management available to come face to face to discuss with me.

It’s a Saturday night and almost impossible to get into a nice restaurant in London on a Saturday without a booking. Fair to say my WORST anniversary yet down to this company. Utterly disgusted that a company would chose money over customer care. Says a lot. Such a shame as used the same company in Paris last year, same time of year as was our anniversary and could not possibly speak higher of them than i do now..

We actually travelled from Scotland to London for this cruise. Pre paid in April and yet for them ‚Äėcancelling‚Äô us they had never refunded our money.

We paid for a taxi to the pier which obviously was a complete waste.

Such a shame as Paris was phenomenal! This has really ruined our weekend in London. Not many anniversaries you leave in floods of tears embarrassed and then sit in a hotel room because there is no where decent available to eat.

The company's social media appears to be private so although I have posted about this on Twitter, my efforts to share the 'experience' won't reach other unsuspecting people via that route. They're obviously concerned about being named and shamed for their appalling approach; namely, taking people's money and then refusing to provide any sort of service.

My friend had previously been on one of Bateaux London's cruises and enjoyed it so she wanted to return with five friends (including me) for a lunch cruise to celebrate her 40th birthday.

Booked weeks ago for yesterday, Saturday 21st April, and the confirmation email clearly stated boarding time of 12:15. The six of us travelled from different areas into London especially to share this experience for our friend's special occasion. We planned our travel in advance and were in plenty of time for the lunch cruise - or so we believed.

On arrival to reception at 12:15, we were told that the boat had already departed and that there were no additional cruises that day.

The first woman we spoke to was completely unapologetic and even mentioned that they have a 48-hour cancellation policy, implying that we won't be refunded. She said that they had emailed two days ago (possibly less than 48 hours then?) to advise of change to boarding and departure times. My friend whose birthday we were celebrating and who had made the booking had not received this email.

We asked to speak with someone in charge so out came the supervisor. She was equally as unhelpful as her colleague and ultimately although she told us she was in charge, she also said there was nothing she could do and that we would have to speak with the manager on Monday. We asked the supervisor to call the manager on his mobile to explain the situation due to the exceptional circumstances and ask what could be done. She said she couldn't give us his number (which we never asked for - only for her to phone him). Supervisor refuses as the manager doesn't work on weekends.

I presume the company get a lot of business on weekends so it's far from reassuring that someone who has no actual authority is left in charge. In case of an emergency, what happens? A manager who leaves his staff to put up and shut up with no support while he enjoys his time off regardless of the circumstances is a poor excuse for a manager.

So, it appears as though six friends celebrating a special occasion are out of pocket for the cost of the lunch cruise and their travel into London.

Oh and the icing on my friend's 40th birthday cake? She ended up stressed and in tears.

Thanks for literally nothing, Bateaux London. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

So 1st June 7 of us went for lunch cruise in Windsor which I booked for my mum for Xmas this experience and was bitterly disappointed with the whole experience.

I will be brief... the lady who served us looked like she didn’t want to be there and I felt uncomfortable asking for anything, my son is allergic to nuts so when I asked another member of staff what there desert was as he was on a child menu she didn’t even come back to me to tell me, the elder member of staff male was fine and polite but the 2 younger girls not so much.

It was extremely hot on the boat, no ventilation at all which made it very stuffy on there.

The food was awful, tasteless, the lamb was fatty and there was no bread with the kids soup, we had to pay 3 pounds for bread which is a joke. The kids main was 3 bits of dry chicken and a handful of chips

All in all not a good experience at all... I have spoken to Jorge who initially offered me complimentary drinks which personally I find insulting due to the fact I spent £220 and then we finally spoke on the phone and I got offered 2 free tickets for another experience as apparently I only complained about my son and I, when I contest this he hung up on me...

I have been trying to get through on the phone for 3 days. EVERY time it takes over an HOUR. This is a joke and I want to cancel my booking immediately. Only I can't as no one answers the phone. How can you run your customer service like this?! I don't believe for a second that you are being overrun with calls as I always start at "queue position 9". Please give me a number I can speak to someone on. Or maybe even an email that a) works or b) someone replies to.

User

I have been trying to get in contact since Monday. That is five days. I have phoned them and been waiting in the queue for 2 and a half hours, I have sent two emails and had no response and I have tried to get in contact via their online communication system. However I have not heard anything. I am trying to book a table for the afternoon Tea Cruise and would still like to give it a go, however at this rate I will be finding somewhere else to go.

User

I have been given a gift voucher to redeem against the Thames lunch cruise for one. I got an error message saying an email couldnt be sent but they would be in touch about my cruise soon. This was on Tuesday and I also emailed them with a screenshot, it replied saying they would be in touch within 72 hours. Well its 72 hours now and no reply. I have even contacted via messanger and no response. I'm not impressed with the service and I haven't even got as far as making a booking cause it wont let me!!]

They are such a joke, booked me on the Windsor cruise when my voucher is for the Thames cruise. So incompetent, how is this company still in business!!!!

User

I booked this for my girlfriends birthday next weekend, a month after booking they contacted to say the window seat we booked was not available so we replied asking for a full refund and have had no reply. We have sent many emails and called multiple times and no one has called or replied. Please refund the full amount.

User

Having previously enjoyed this cruise we were very disappointed with our current experience, the service was terrible, the food was cold, when we finally got it!

We were back in the dock before our desert arrived.

Previously the lunch was a three course lunch, now it is two courses, unless, apparently if you have a Red Letter package, then you get the three courses!

this caused confusion with the staff, it appeared that people ordered starters that on the menu where extras, but then if where Red Letter customers where entitled to free starters that weren’t on the menu, thus, meaning they then had two starters!!!!

We on the other hand had to wait 45 mins for a glass of water!

We ordered wine to have with our meal, the waitress asked us several times if we had ordered Rose, we hadn’t, we ordered a Red!

The waitress kept disappearing from her post so nobody was getting served and other staff appeared to be covering her station.

Not happy as we expected to be eating our lunch while cruising, not while back in the dock!!!!

There was a commentary of interesting information playing throughout the cruise, telling the story of London history, unfortunately, we were unable to here it because of the boats engines, it was pointed out by several customers that we couldn’t here the commentary!

Overall, this experience was very poor, compared to our previous experience’s that have been very enjoyable.

We would not recommend this cruise to family and friends based on this experience and we will not be revisiting again unless things drastically improve!

We feel this is a massive shame as this, for us, has been a must do experience when visiting London but, unfortunately, not one we will be taking part of again in the future.

We really hope you can sort out these issues so that future customers can enjoy this experience as it should be experienced, as we have experienced it in the past, rather than the waste of hard earned money that this experience has turned out to be.
