Thank you for all your enquiries about our Abbey clock. Unfortunately it isn't quite showing the correct time but rest assured we are aware of the problem and are hoping to get it repaired as soon as possible. You can still go behind the scenes, however, and sit behind the clock as part of our Tower Tours if you'd like to find out more about the clock and its inner workings!

To highlight mental health awareness day on Wednesday, we were treated to a flash-mob at the heart of the Abbey, enthusiastically singing two numbers. Let's remember all who live with debilitating mental health issues and all who care for them, especially St Mungo's here in Bath.

informative guides on the tower tour , absolutely loved the abbey.

User

Visiting the Abbey was a must. A beautiful building. Friendly staff. The architecture was breathtaking. Worth the visit and right next to the Roman baths so got some incredible photos too.

User

The tour is worth the money! We went at noon with 2 very knowledgeable tour guides who made it interesting and informative. The 218 steps to climb is so worth it, with ana amazing view of Bath! If you can do the tour defiantly worth every penny!

User

Such a beautiful place to visit. So much to see. Tour bus doesn’t give you enough time. So next time we go it will be a separate visit. But definitely a must visit place!

Stunning building, magnificent architecture set I centre of a beautiful city

Now, firstly let me tell you about George, our guide... This young man is an absolute credit to the Abbey!!

We booked to climb the tower for 4.30 on Saturday evening. As far as I’m concerned the best time of day on a cool November afternoon. We arrived early so I had a good look around the Abbey. I’m not a religious person but was brought up to go to church as indeed I’m sure in the 70’s, so I have a respect for those there to worship, take in the beautiful music that was being played and those that sit to be alone with their thoughts.

A choir started to sing along with the orchestra and WOW what a beautiful sound from this building with its fantastic acoustics.

I digress..... George introduced himself and we set ourselves off. There were just eight of us and that was just right. George gave us a quick heath and safety briefing explaining areas that we could bang our heads, where to duck, where to squeeze in, where to stand etc, etc. And off we went.

The little stories were spoken with confidence and kept us engaged. We were very lucky to have made it to the belfry to experience the 5 o’clock ringing... WOW!! Simply amazing.

At the top we had amazing views, lots of time for photos and more questions answered by this fabulous young man.

Bath Abbey: Keep doing what you’re doing and although it was only George we met it is the team there that have to also take credit for keeping this beautiful building alive. And it is alive.

Thank you for a great experience. I for one will be back 🕍🙏

My husband and nearly 7 year old daughter visited the Abbey the other day, and did the tower tour. They both really enjoyed it, and my daughter loved seeing the bell, behind the clock and being able to take pictures from the top.

User

Lovely and very steep tower tour with our guides Steward and George!

User

It was almost a replica of westmisnster Abbey...Great interior amd History behind it. Staff are so freindly and i get to take all pictures i coudnt take in westminster Abbey...Lovely...

User

I'm a local and I finally took the tower tour with my five year old daughter today. Thank you to the tour guides who were very knowledgeable and so patient as we slowly negotiated the stairs to the top. A beautiful view and a wonderful experience to see the Abbey bell room and tower. Children have to be 5 years old to take the tour - At just five, my daughter managed the stairs ok though down was trickier as the stairs are pretty steep. Her attention span for the tour itself was a bit of a push (lasting 50-60 minutes) but in general she enjoyed the experience.

User

I loved the abbey,it was my first visit to bath as a tourist ,it was amazing x

User

I cannot add any more useful praiseworthy comments to those already posted. My visit to this magnificent building yesterday, including the rooftop/tower tour hosted by Helena and George had made me determined to revisit to take in a choral performance, and also to bring along other family members. Thank you for presenting this jewel in Bath's golden crown in such a stunningly beautiful manner.

User

Excellent trip up tower to see views Bath on a lovely sunny day. Led by George who was a delight - enthusiast and very knowledgeable. Takes less than an hour. Recommended

User

Did the tower tour and it was really good. Gets you right behind the scenes, onto the roof and into the belfry. Didn't see any bats though. Lot of steps but you get a couple of chances to get your breath back so no excuses.

User

Bath is a wonderful place to just sit and watch the world go by. So much to see and do.

User

Am out of words, one has to visit to appreciate, just magnificent!

User

A wonderful experience. Took the guided tour of the roof and tower. The views were amazing and worth ever one of the 212 steps climbed to get to the top of the tower. Money well spent. The tour guide was very well informed and entertaining. Well done Bath Abbey👍

User

Wasn't my choice to visit went with friends , but was pleasantly surprised at how interesting i found the day , the tour is well worth the money and the leg ache , ( only the first stage of steps is hard going, ) all in all an amazing day even for one who has no interest in any religion , the age the skill and the time put into that building as a structure was enough to keep my interest , thank you for a fabulous day out.

User

Bath is a wonderful place ... Our guide was amazing..full of information, kind and polite in every manner... will definitely be coming back again to learn more ... tks
