Bath Photography Festival

About Bath Photography Festival

Bath Photography Festival2018, will see the initial photographic show under the ‘Bath Photography Festival' heading. This mini-exhibition will be part of the greater FAB festival. Thanks to their support and guidance the project has become a reality. The aim of the festival is to promote and encourage creative photography. Bath has a rich photographic heritage. It is the home of the Royal Photographic Society and the Fox Talbot Museum at Lacock Abbey is only 15 miles away. Real / Unreal - 25th May - 10th June 2018Our first year: In association with the ‘Fringe Arts Bath Festival' we would like to develop and establish a ‘Bath Photography Festival'. The aim will be to promote and encourage creative photography. IntroductionWe are bombarded with photographic imagery every day, through news channels, social media, posters, signs and product labels. These images can inspire us, make us question and influence us. However, are these images real or portraying the truth?Ever since the invention of photography, images have been doctored. The media lends itself to many editing processes; this allows the photographer to change what they see and therefore the viewer's perception. "Always remember and never forget, that the unreal is so very real". Brian GriffinPlease visit the venue and artist pages for information, exhibition locations and a list of artist statements. On behalf of FAB and the Bath Photography Festival, I would like to thank everyone who has submitted work to the Real / Unreal call out. Without this and the support from the venues and sponsors, this project could not happen. Simon Taylor. FAB and The Bath Photography Festival are run by volunteers.
