About Battersea Arts Centre - Bac

At Battersea Arts Centre our mission is to inspire people to take creative risks to shape the future.

Battersea Arts Centre - Bac Description

Housed in a Grade II*Housed in a beautiful Grade II* listed former town hall, Battersea Arts Centre offers a wide mixture of shows and discussions, home-made food and drink, weddings and dances, family fun and creative learning. You can also explore the political and cultural history of the building through our Digital Archive.

Battersea Arts Centre is a place where everyone plays a role in inventing the future of theatre. We invite you to experience unfinished shows, to offer ideas and feedback. We call this SCRATCH. Finished shows are then performed throughout the building and often go on to stages across London, the UK and the world.

We believe theatre can change lives for the better. We aim to use creativity to tackle challenges in our community: engaging people of all ages and backgrounds in a variety of projects. Artists live in the building all year round, as part of our creative community and we are open daily for everyone to use and explore. e.

We went to see The Night That Autumn Turned Winter, excellent production, thoroughly enjoyed by the kids and the adults, highly recommend.

User

We loved the Christmas show, When Autumn Turned to Winter. Friendly & helpful staff and overall a lovely visit.

User

They are brilliant, we saw The night autumn turned into winter and few other before that and i must say they were better than some of the west end shows such as Gruffalo.

User

The staff n creatives all threw a cracking NYEve party to see in 2018 - thank you! Happy 2018 to all at the BAC Penni x

The ethos behind, the actions within, the effort without, the chances they give, the love they share, the shit they put up with. All in all, a bloody tremendous place.

User

One of the most interesting fringe venues in London! Diverse initiatives and impressive work!

User

Lots of activities for all ages and absolutely free.

My 2 year old enjoyed the Night Garden theme play area the most.

Great shows, great atmosphere and friendly people. Lively bar, tasty food and Pluto the cat.

User

Brilliant venue for the Ceilidh. Great turn out and excellent band - we had such a fun evening!

User

At this venue i had my events in 1990-1992. This was the Town hall in Battersea and used to be called the Old Town Hall in Battersea, which is now known as the Battersea Art Center. They are doing a great job, keep it going. - Hans

User

Amazing venue, superb performance space, wonderful food & drink

User

A quirky play, full of fun for adults and children alike. Go and see it if you can

User

A phenomenal site, and treasure to South London. The community has really rallied around its restoration. The venue's programming is great, and they have a great bar with some pretty awesome food.

User

Great place ...needs to focus a litle more on adding some hospitality vibes. More chairs and tables forva start and no wine in plastic cups...please

User

We shared an enjoyable evening. The staff at the Sratch Bar were friendly and helpful. The challenging restoration work looks great it will be good to see on completion. A lovely facility for the community being brought back to life!

User

Despite the fire the place shows evidence of neglect and poor cleaning routine.

Food was exorbitant in price and had an air of pretentious poseurs.
