Contrary to Folklore, Battledown was never the site of a great war, nor is it the ghostly tomb to thousands of warriors. The land started as a humble farm to one man and his family, Baedala. Although not the axe-swinging hero you may read about in books, he was a man that respected the land and cherished the fruits of it. Today we brew our ale true to the spirit of Baedala, focusing on the finest local ingredients and a hard working tradition that goes back centuries.
