me and my wife went yesterday for lunch it was a spare of the moment choice not been for years ....well what a fantastic surprise we had . Sat in the beer garden , I ordered triple cheese bacon burger and my wife asked if they could make her a tuna sandwich (not on the menu)they said no problem !

both meals were to die for. Very impressed with quality and portion size ,we will definitely be returning very soon

Went for my lunch on Thursday, 16/02/2017 with my wife and 3 children. We all loved the food and the warm, friendly environment and atmosphere. We'll definitely be going back, just to try the specials. The whole menu is great for all ages and tastes, even catering for vegans. The staff were great, very helpful and friendly. You will not be disappointed when you visit

We've been meaning to try Baydale Beck for ages and finally got here yesterday after a race in Darlington. Had a really enjoyable vegan meal from a substantial vegan menu yesterday. We were even given a discount as we had our Darlington 10k race tshirts on.the staff were knowledgable and attentive, nothing was too much bother. Thanks for catering so amazingly for vegans

We loved the menu. Great to see so many vegan options which I've not seen unless in a vegan restaurant. Our party was a mixed bunch so chose all sorts. All our meals were superb. Coconut ice cream was excellent! Service was great carried out by a friendly professional young man (sorry should have got his name). Well done all. We'll be back!

We have been walking up for two weeks while dog sitting very dog friendly allowed anywhere outside & in the bar! On Sunday decided to try Sunday lunch lovely to eat outside! The beef and pork were really tender nice selection of veg gravy absolutely beautiful! Only one problem I might have to have a smaller portion next time! Very friendly staff waited a while but everything is cooked fresh so you dont mind! Will definitely be back!!

My family and I tried the new Vegan Menu last night- wow, I've never had so much choice! I had the "pulled pork" jackfruit, which was sensational (better than I've had from a solely Vegan restaurant in Newcastle) and for dessert the chocolate and orange slice made from sweet potato with a coconut sorbet! My goodness, so good.



I'll definitely be returning with my vegan friends! Thank you for moving with the times; we need more local pubs and restaurants to follow in your footsteps!

Lovely staff food was great and a good selection on the menu - if you have vegetarian and vegan friends go here something for all, meat and non meat eaters

Lovely food and friendly staff. Had the small portion of Parmo hot shot which was the wise decision as i saw the normal size portion and it was huge! Had chocolate fudge sundae too which was yummy. Although we are not locals, we were not treated as such and had a great evening. Highly recommend.

Just had meal at Beck for Jasons Birthday and of course a few drinks. Great food as usual from Aaron and super service from Kelly, Rebekah and Thom (when Thom started work!). Always great to see friends also in the bar. Credit to Joanne and Tony. Would recommend The Beck to all!

Just finished my birthday meal, it's safe to say I've literally just eaten the best meal out I've ever had since going vegan. Thank you to Alex the chef who developed the delicious menu.



Starter was chestnut mushrooms in red wine and tarragon sauce on toasted ciabatta bread, main was a "pulled pork" jackfruit burger with relish and fries, and dessert was a sticky toffee, sweet potato chocolate orange slice & vanilla coconut ice cream to finish.



Food was amazing, company was amazing, atmosphere was amazing. I had a fab 21st, thank you so so much everyone who's been part of it. ��

Heard about this place from a NE vegan group. A pub just outside Darlington with loads of vegan food? Well we drove miles to find out and weren't disappointed. Lovely food, great staff and our dog was welcomed too. It might be 65 miles further than my local but we'll still be back

Have been twice now in two months for an impromptu meal.... portions large, really comprehensive menu which includes a seperate gluten free and a vegan menus. Decent real ale selection and excellent service with friendly staff. Will deffo be back at those prices for the freshly made food. Deffo recommend

Had the vegan nut roast and it was delicious! It’s always difficult to find places that have meat options and vegan options, so it was really nice to go somewhere with such an extensive vegan menu. The Yorkshire puddings were the highlight!

Great food, quick, and friendly service. The food was also served piping hot. The jalapeño, cheese and salsa potato skins are another level....Would also recommend the Parmo �. Shall be returning. �

Gorgeous food - great vegan menu which is why we visited this pub. We went along on a gorgeous sunny day sat outside in the garden and it was just beautiful.

The meal - tender stem tempura Broccoli and hummus, and salad with Apple, grapes and crunchy nuts followed by pulled jackfruit in bun with chips and tagliatelle with nuts and cherry tomatoes. It was a fab meal, really tasty and good value. Definitely recommend a visit.

Fantastic Thai curry, perfect blue steak, and the biggest chips I have ever encountered! Fantastic food and amazeballs service :-)

All I ask is that next time you ditch the fish bowl for a standard glass for my G&T :-)

Beautiful meals & friendly staff. Decent portions & extremely tasty. Steak melted in mouth & the pepper sauce has a nice little kick, just how I like it. All 3 Children cleaned their plates, even though the double burger was larger than my sons head �. Will definitely visit again & would recommend.

Party of 10 for a couple of birthdays. Nice friendly place with advantages this weekend of beer cider and gin festival. Lots of gin drunk! Good pub food something for everyone. The madras curry is especially recommended if you like it hot. Plenty of parking and only grumble would be the toilets could go with a make over. But all in all an enjoyable night in an enjoyable place and attentive staff. Very dog friendly also which is always a bonus

Had a function with you last night over 20 people and the service was brilliant ...the atmosphere and the food all came at the right time and was delicious especially the new vegan menu x well done
