Bcha Description

Working Together: Building Better Lives, Better Homes and Better Communities

We’re a specialist housing and support provider of approximately 400 staff, helping people who find themselves homeless and vulnerable after facing poverty, relationship breakdowns, addictions, unemployment, domestic violence, human trafficking, release from prison and deteriorating mental and physical health.

In addition, we provide affordable housing to those with limited income; support new and emerging social enterprises and have an in-house maintenance team which looks after all the many properties we own or use.

Our services stretch across the South West (mainly in Devon / Dorset / Wiltshire, Hampshire and Somerset). Our corporate services are based in Bournemouth.
On average, we help over 10, 000 people each year to access the right housing, living, support, learning and work opportunities.

Our jobs make a real and positive difference to people's lives.

Working within the charitable sector is always a challenge, particularly with funding, but for those looking for real job satisfaction, BCHA can definitely provide this.

2018 marked our 50th Anniversary and we will be launching a campaign to mark the occasion.

Last night’s NCS Information evening was very successful with almost 50 young people attending with their parents and guardians to get their free NCS merchandise and find out more about the summer courses!
If you’re 15-17 and haven’t made plans for next summer, why not join the thousands who have already completed NCS? Visit www.ncsyes.co.uk or contact a member of the local team on 01202 410550.

"Celebrate and Donate" - help rough sleepers off the street this Christmas while having an amazing time!
The Street Support Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole collaborative have launched a new Christmas Campaign called 'Celebrate and Donate' which seeks to raise funds this winter for "Change For Good".
Change For Good is an alternative giving campaign set up to help pay for the items and services required by the homeless community to help them to move off the streets, reintegr...ate into society and rebuild their lives.
Every organisation involved in the BCP Homelessness Collaborative (currently 22 local charities and agencies - including BCHA), will have access to this fund so they can apply for the things that are so vitally needed by those they work with. Whether it is a coat to keep warm during the winter months, or a rent deposit on a new home - you can be sure that the money raised will be put to good use.
So, here's what we need from you: Step 1: Get your 'donation party pack' (fancy dress items, a Change for Good collection box and a giant photo frame!) Step 2: Take it to your Christmas party this year Step 3: Collect all your spare change in the Change for Good mini "house" collection box Step 4: Take the best photo of you all holding the box in your photo frame! Step 5: Put it on social media with the hashtag #changeforgood
You could "Celebrate and Donate" at your work Christmas do, or why not set up a photo booth in your office?? All monies raised will be transferred to our Change For Good fund - changeforgoodbournemouth.org.uk which is managed by Dorset Community Foundation.
If you would like to get involved, have any questions about this campaign, how the monies will be used, or anything else about Change For Good or the BCP Homelessness Collaborative, please contact Claire Devaney (Project Officer)
