My wife and I purchased an ex display new cooker from here at the beginning of July for £380 . During the purchase we explained to the sales man Ian that we would be having a new kitchen over the next couple of months and would not need delivery until it had been fitted. This was agreed and we were told that they would store it for upto 3 Months to help if we wanted to go ahead with the purchase today. Ian also said that he would remove it from display to avoid any damage occurring. We went home and paid a via credit card over the phone and told an email receipt would be sent. A week later we returned to collect the receipt as he was having trouble sending it to my email. During our second visit We also viewed a tumble dryer and noticed that our cooker was still on display with a price ticket displayed I asked a younger member of staff why it was still here and he told me they had another ex display cooker of the same model at there Totnes store and put that in storage for us instead, he assured me that the Totnes cooker was in good condition and not to worry. We left and had no further contact until last week when with reluctance thought we should have it delivered so as not to inconvenience the store any further. In the meantime our kitchen had been cancelled due to technicality’s with the supplier and this meant that we were unable to accept delivery so telephoned and made them aware of the delivery issue. I visited the store today to enquire if I could cancel my order due to not requiring the cooker as the kitchen was no longer being fitted and I would accept a restocking fee if required as it was not a financial matter for me with the cooker but an item that unfortunately was no longer required, I also said that I was willing to accept the loss so that they could resell at it a discounted cost if they wished to do so. I was refused and told by Mr Mark Higgins that under no circumstance was this going to happen and the cooker was mine and my issue and despite my trying to discuss this calmly away from other customers as to not cause disruption was met with “I have better and more important matters to deal than stand here talking to you” he also said that it was here say what I was told about my purchase being brought from another branch and very doubtful that this had happened, I explained that this is not something that I could make up as I had no idea they would have another one on exdisplay in Totnes, I also said I have not seen or checked the alternative cooker. I calmly commented on his lack of service and that I was trying to discuss this calmly and it is extreme circumstances but was again met with a very stand offish attitude and the final words take me to court and that he was not going to keep discussing this.
I also had to cancel a tumble dryer order from HBH Wollacotts who more than accommodating with this situation and understood and made a full refund.
I have never taken to writing a complaint before and am aggrieved at having to resort to wrtiting a warning to others at the poor lack of service in unusual circumstances.

Great help and installers were fab.Even though they were unable to install the cooker they recommended an electrician who was amazing.I ended up having my installation money back and again this was no problem.

Very impressed with the service from start to finish. No pressure from the sales team. Very helpful and knowledgeable. Sorted us a real good deal. Delivery staff were very helpful and courteous and after sales team were excellent. Would definitely recommend as i would rather deal with a person and see what i am buying opposed to shopping for items of this nature online.

Brilliant customer service from Beacon especially David, couldn't have been more helpful with our order '(and managed to beat internet prices ) our changing delivery dates, and helpful with a fault in the oven - not theirs - once unpacked. Would use this firm again for household electricals without hesitation

Excellent service with someone who actually had knowledge of the product. I received help getting it into my car and I got a discount because they only had the display model until the next day. I will not be returning to Currys for my white goods, Beacon blew them out of the water.

Great service beginning to end. No pressure sales and worked out a good deal for more than one appliance and fitting etc without having to ask. Delivery and fitting was done efficiently and in a polite and professional manner. Will definitely use again beats the big store option hands down!

Went in for advice on my fridge freezer which I'd bought from AO 2 years ago. They explained that the issue sounded like it was the compressor which had started to fail.

The assistant explained the usual costings for an engineer and asked if I wanted to look at some of their fridge freezers for a price comparison.

There was no hard sell which I loved.

I went away and came back with my wife to look again and we were sold having had looked at Currys and AO in the gap, Beacon was compensative on price and only around the corner from us.

Delivery was free and quick. Would recommend

Our fridge/freezer was purchased from your company and has never reached the manufacturer's specification since installation - a fact that has only recently been acknowledged by them

On every occasion Ashley has been helpful, polite, thorough and untiring in his efforts to resolve this issue. I have never known ANYONE in a service environment who has surpassed Ashley - and I have been in a service role for 37 years. He is a credit to your company.

On Tuesday the replacement fridge/freezer arrives - all due to Ashley.

Ordered a Range dual fuel cooker, installation and removal of old Range cooker. what can i say thats not positive, i have ordered white goods from Beacon Electrical in the past, they are very competitive and the staff are friendly and well informed of the product they are selling. They promised installation on the date i asked for and delivered on their promise. The Gas Safe engineer turned up first and as he was disconnecting the old cooker when the delivery team delivered the new cooker and removed the old cooker. The engineer fitted the new cooker and took my gas fitting up to the Gas Safe standard fitting a bayonet connection as well as a safety chain so the cooker can not pull on the Gas pipe. The install and removal was painless and far exceeded what i was expecting. big thank you to the Beacon Electrical team and especially Ashley who kept me informed at all times of the progress and even offered an early install if i wanted to. regarding the negative comments on here if you have a hard wired appliance i would say you should of stated that to them when you placed the order as i believe most washing machines have a plug and are not normally hard wired in, further more these guys don't know what you have unless you inform them of this. Anyway my wife and myself are extremely happy with the service they provided and will continue to use them in the future again thank you for a first class service.

**Washing machine status**-researched in your usual large companies such as Curry's, Argos etc but none of these could deliver & install a new silver washing machine I wanted and recycle my old washing machine in my postcode Area (PL1)!!!! so I decided to use a local firm Beacon Electrical as they sounded great on the phone when I called. So even though the washing machine I wanted in silver was more than double what I wanted to pay I thought well if the service is going to be good then it will be worth it.
So after waiting 9 days for the delivery I am then told that they can't install it as it is hard wired, they MAY be able to collect the old machine on their route.
Called this morning to be told NO they can not collect my old washing machine so I need to pop into the store for a refund!!!!
Fuming is an understatement.
**could have just brought a new silver washing machine half the price ordered to store and paid someone for the delivery, install and recycle which I've had to do separately anyway now!!!!!!!!!!!**

NOW just to find a way of getting my old washing machine down 2 flights of stairs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
