Beacon Opticians will be the first social enterprise optometry service in the UK. We aim to bring our expertise of visual impairment and sight loss as lived practitioners and our wide range of advice, training and support services to the clinical expertise of local optometrists and optical labs to deliver the very best in eye tests, prescribing, retail and frame choice, including 3D printed bespoke frames for the ultimate in personal fit. Our customers will be the 59, 000 people living across the West Midlands with a visual impairment or sight loss whose needs cannot be wholly met by high street opticians and who need additional training or support to make the best use of assistive or adaptive aids. Beacon is a holder of the Social Enterprise Mark and all profits from our trading activities are used to support people with visual impairment or sight loss.
