BRAND NEW AFTER SCHOOL CLUB COMING SEPT 2019: Does your child know their protons from their electrons? Do they have a real passion for Science and keen to know more? All children were really lucky to have had a fantastic special Science assembly this afternoon by Lightning 🌩 Lauren from ‘Mad Science!’ Her team are offering children in Y1-6 (currently FS-Y5) the opportunity to join an after school club each Wednesday (3.30-4.30pm) for 10 weeks in the Autumn term. This is a ‘...paid for’ club and costs £7.50 per session (payment plan available) They get to take part in real experiments - even exploring how to make slime! 🥴 If your child is interested (only 22 places are available), please log in to the website detailed on the flyer, find Bearbrook School and register! It is first come, first served so there is limited availability. We really do hope the children enjoy it!

Hot meals are changing at Bearbrook! Some of you may be aware, we have been looking into a new hot meals provider for the last couple of months. We are really pleased to announce we have secured a new provider from September and they are really keen to share their delicious meals with you too! On Sports Day, a representative from AIP will be joining us from 2pm until the end of the school day and they will be bringing some samples along for you to try! Please do take this opportunity to try some of the samples and maybe consider this as your alternative meal arrangement for your child! 👍 🥘 🧁 🥤

Kingswood parents: ETA is 6pm for pickup. It sounds like they have had a fab time! Pickup from the gate, but please give time for cases to be unloaded and children to come off safely. Please can we also ask you to be mindful of where you park as the coach needs to reverse and park safely 🚌

A few reminders for this week as it’s a busy one! 1. How could you forget Kingswood children return tomorrow!? (no extra cheeky days without your child! 😂) we will keep you posted on here for an ETA as we know! 2. FS parents: Y1 transition workshop on Tuesday. Please return your slips so we have an idea of numbers. There are two sessions so we do hope you can join us for one of them. 3. Foundation and Year 1 have a cake sale on Tuesday so please bring your pennies for a T...uesday treat after school! 4. Sports day on Friday!! Let’s hope the weather is kind to us!
Also a massive thank you to all who went to support Year 2 and this year’s Whizz Fest in Aylesbury on Saturday. The artwork was incredible and we were very proud of you!

If you ever been to one of our Phonics meetings, you will know we place a lot of emphasis on saying the sounds correctly but more importantly, teaching the children to blend the sounds to make the word. This was a fab idea I found which uses play dough for sound buttons. Children push the button and say the sound! Please remember if you want any help with Phonics before we break up, come and see us. Both Mrs Geddert or Mrs Wixted are more than happy to “run through the basics” again if you need them too! Come and see us! ⭐️

Something we often get asked at school is “any tricks for helping my child with a correct pencil grip?” We encourage a correct grip as soon as your child becomes interested in writing and modelling it for them is key. Why not try this tip at home? Let us know how you get on!

New Parents FS 2019: Don’t forget its our new parents meeting for FS children this morning at 9.15am! Come along and meet our staff, listen to a short presentation and ask any questions! Also attending will be our PTA selling uniform, Busy Living if you’re interested in wrap around care and our hot meals provider with samples for you to try! Come along!
