had a lovely meal here saturday the 14th, service was really good. starters came out quickly, the garlic bread an mushrooms were really nice, and mains followed shortly after. really enjoyed the lasagna, and my partner had the chefs burger. would highy recommend, and will be back again ’┐Į thank you!!

Went to watch England v Panama game on Saturday. Really great atmosphere, felt the change of vibe due to the new management. Looking forward to them rolling food out, hoping they'll do good burgers!

Visited Chester for a couple of days and needed somewhere for decent food close to the hotel. This came up and had good reviews. I have to say, what amazing food, especially for the price! Really lovely staff, clean and welcoming pub. Chips were to die for, as was the rest. Excellent quality ingredients, much better than you would expect. Actually really wish this was local to me, I'd be here all the time! Thanks for the experience and best of luck

This pub is local to where we live and have started to visit again occasionally once again. The people who have taken over have made our visits welcoming and warm and the little attention to detail hasn't gone unnoticed. The new interior and exterior is definitely a massive improvement. Open warm and inviting. Although we have only enjoyed drinks so far we hope to sample the food soon. Would recommend ’┐Į

The food is hugely improved. I had spicy meatballs yesterday. I defy you to find better in an Italian restaurant. Please try the new menu, it is simple but good quality ingredients and very well cooked .

Party of 15 was no problem to this pub guys in bar made us feel very welcome. The food was a credit to the chef and all came out at the same time we all agreed was a great service and would come again

Never going back!

Last 4 times IŌĆÖve been in IŌĆÖve not been able to get any food at all.

Last visit, went there early to get some food.

They had signs up saying kitchen was closed.

I asked what else they had, plain crisps & dry roasted peanuts. Useless.

Normally go in the watch the footy.

Get told 4 mins before kickoff that they donŌĆÖt have BT sports so I canŌĆÖt watch it.

Got a pint, tasted awful.

Ended up going the wheatsheaf.

Pub was packed. Great atmosphere.

Such a shame, itŌĆÖs only just been done up. They had issues with the heating for weeks on end.

IŌĆÖll be surprised if itŌĆÖs still open in 6 months.

My visit this evening was lovely the land lady went above and beyond for my family. Warmed my babies dinner and bottle. Free games of pool. Food was beautiful staff are very helpful and friendly I will be visiting again very soon.

Just had our 1st meal back here in over 18 months due to new management. Have to say atmosphere since they took over has been back to the expected excellent service a community pub deserves. Food was amazing tonight. A last minute decision by us to stay and eat after catching up with friends. Thank you andy chef!!

Absolutely brilliant place to have a few drinks, and a bit of grub, amazing atmosphere especially at weekends when the football/rugby/horse racing is being shown, helpful and friendly staff...its a must visit. Thank me later ­¤¢Æ

We had a nice meal it's been years and years since we had been in there. Food was excellent .cost was good too. We will go back I had the ham egg and chips and my husband had the fish and chips very filling

Didn't have a great experience at Christmas due to staffing problems. And I was never planing on going again. However we got invited back and thought everyone deserve a second chance. Sooo glad we did!....



The atmosphere is brilliant really friendly cosy pub.

Food was lovely, came out quickly so didn't have to entertain the children for too long. Not that it would of been a problem because they were provided with a colouring book and pencils when we sat down which was a nice touch.



All the food came out hot, fresh and generally well cooked, typical pub grub but that's what we wanted on a family Sunday lunch. The kids menu's provides plenty of choice with generous portions. And they have a senior menu which was great for my 90 year old grandmother who can't eat big platefuls. They have a reasonable choice of menu at very good prices and some very good deals. If I had to find fault I think all I could say would be the parsnips on the Sunday lunch were a little undercooked and the garlic bread with the lasagne was a tad soggy but that's just splitting hairs.



Was a very enjoyable afternoon and we will definitely be going back again.

Been coming here for a good few years, always lively, good food and very friendly staff. Always a good range hand pulled beers, and never had a bad pint! Good prices for food and beer, if you are nearby , nip in and try.

Well just returned from the Bears Paw went there looking forward to an evening of Motown and soul as advertised. Sadly upon arrival we found it to be a solo guitarist singing from Elvis to Quo when we asked the staff had the Motown night been cancelled she informed us that this is a Soul and Motown show. Christ I have had my music mixed up for the past 55 years

I organised a nite out wiv 7 other friends to come and see the Robbie Williams tribute act. He sang about 7 or 8 Robbie songs with no thought of order of songs eg. Angels was the 3rd song he sang which is obviously an end of act song. He refused to sing Me and my monkey because he said was it was to long, even though he was taking requests. He then came back on for his 2nd set by which time Robbie had gone home as he sang Michael buble, queen and neil diamonds songs. At this time we decided to go somewhere else as it was definitely not a Robbie tribute act which was only reason we came in first place. Come on bears Paw, put some research into who your booking as this is not the first time you have received negative comments about the acts you book (soul and motown night). Very Very disappointing , the pub and act.
