Join Be As One as we work to expand the work of ARC Horse Welfare, a non-profit that rescues sick, injured, and abandoned horses in the Algarve region of Portugal.
You donations are urgently needed in order to purchase a new trailer so that we can rescue even more horses, donkeys, and ponies in need. Please help us to ensure these animals are well-cared for and protected.

We have been fostering this little foal and his mum for a nearly a month now, they were recsued by the Swiss Mobile Clinic from a pack of dogs. Little Edwin needs his babdaged changed every other day but he is healing wonderfully. Our fields are full of wonderful flowers, and our other horses, are thriving.

These two gorgeous girls have been in foster for many months, they are well handled,calm, kind and gentle. Anyone who has adopted a Silves slaughter horse, will tell you how special it is to bond with a horse that has never been abused by humans. How fully they trust and how calm their personalities are. These girls are full vetted with passports and thus can travel anywhere promptly. We have held on for a long time waiting for the right forever home to come along, but now due to personal circumstances (the birth of our own baby in a only a few weeks) we do need them to move on to a positive future.Can anyone help? Look what just washed up into Nori's arms! :) Its a baby oceanic Northern Gannet, incredibly the adult birds never come to land (only for breeding) their wingspan can reach up to 5 feet! They are usually found far out to sea feeding with the dolphins and whales. What a privilege it is to care for this baby, hes in quite bad shape but fingers crossed Nori can work her magic tonight and tomorrow we will go to see the expert bird doc. Wish us luck xx
