A beauty blog created with the intention of providing you with everything you need to know about makeup including swatches, reviews and updates!

After initially creating a private page in January and intending to use it as my portfolio, I then decided to create my beauty Instagram account @beautyblog_shan. I have only now decided to publish my page as I wanted to have a selection of my work available and presented properly. I have been working on this project for some time, expanding my knowledge base and developing my skill set in the hope that I can achieve success. I'm now ready for everyone to see my work and need your assistance to progress further!

If you would be happy to complete a sitting and have your photos featured in my portfolio then please get in contact. I need all the hands on experience I get and would greatly appreciate your time. Currently for a limited time only, all clients who place a booking will be offered a free trial included in the price. The trial includes a consultation and practice run through of your chosen make up service. During the consultation we can explore various products, colour schemes and trends. I can also provide product /design recommendations. I am also more than happy to work from any picture provided if you choose to bring these with you to your trial session.

There's something indescribably satisfying when you achieve the perfect intricately blended eye colour combination before a special occasion or a night out. There's nothing more thrilling than purchasing a new product from your favourite cosmetic brand's new seasonal collection. There's definitely nothing more exciting than purchasing a new makeup brush set and using a new brush for the first time. If you love make up as much as I do, I'm sure that you will agree!

Over 6 months ago it suddenly dawned on me that I could make better use of my creative skills and pursue a hobby I am passionate about all in one go. First thing's first, I decided to begin replenishing my makeup collection by replacing everything with high end luxury beauty products. My intention was and still is to share, to teach, and to provide an honest service to loyal clients. I have so many friends who regularly compliment me on my make up and ask me for advice and recommendations, so why not? I strongly believe that anyone willing to pay for a makeup session wants to be pampered. They want access to the best products available and a skilled individual who is able to get the most out of those products. It's also a treat to try new products, especially those they may not own themselves.

I've been avidly watching make up tutorials for months to curb my technique and have been practicing my self-application wherever possible. I've now begun promoting what I'm doing through my beauty Instagram account (link in contact info) and am looking to build a portfolio of my client work. I also want to use my two social media accounts to provide easy tutorials, provide honest product reviews and begin building a loyal client base.

I'm also currently in the process of completing a couple of online makeup courses to boost my technical knowledge. As great as technical knowledge is, I see make up as a form of artistry, something to be perfected with hands on experience. As mentioned above, to me, this isn't just something I’m doing to fill time; this is a hobby, a passion.
