Bedford Court Mansions

About Bedford Court Mansions

Beautiful early 20th century apartment block in the Bloomsbury Conservation area, to the south of Bedford Square.

Bedford Court Mansions Description

Bedford Court Mansions, along with the rest of Bedford Avenue, was constructed in the 1890’s and early 1900's to replace the mews to the south side of Bedford Square.

It comprised of family flats each containing five to twelve rooms, with a large central courtyard designed to assist with the lighting and ventilation with the idea to improve upon building standards that existed in London in the late 1800’s.

It is now home to a varied mix of residents in its 114 apartments. The owners of each apartment are members of Bedford Court Mansions Ltd, the freeholder of the whole building

It is the most centrally located mansion block in London and is located in the Bloomsbury Conservation area, although the building is not a listed building.

Situated in the London Borough of Camden, and immediately south of Bedford Square in the heart of Bloomsbury, Bedford Court Mansions is ideally located for the superb amenities of the West End, Covent Garden, the heart of theatreland and Soho are just short stroll away. The nearest underground stations are Tottenham Court Road (Northern and Central Lines) and Goodge Street (Northern Line). There are numerous bus services that provide easy access across the City and West End.

Just around the corner from Bedford Court Mansions is The British Museum, the first National Museum in the world, the busy shopping centres of Oxford Street, Tottenham Court Road and the vibrant entertainment of Soho and Theatreland

A terrific view looking back along the avenue taken from the crane above the newly rebuilt ONE Bedford Avenue, now called The Avenue. 13/1/16 The mansions on the right and the rooftops of 'the other BCM' to the left. The dome of the atrium of the British Museum hovering in the distance
