fish and chip van, plus pizza van a welcome sight and a great idea, local talent providing music in the Tipi which drummed up a fantastic atmosphere into the late hours, a well stocked shop with scrummy breakfast pastries, we met lots of returning campers which must be a good sign. Not the greatest wash facilities but its camping, so what do you expect!! A great place for star gazing...

Just on our way back from a 3 night bank holiday break with 2 other families:

Pros: camp fire, lots of space, musicians in a communal area on a Saturday evening, lovely setting and fab company.

Cons: 4 flushing toilets for female and 2 flushing toilets (plus 1 urinal) for male for 200 plus pitches. The cleanliness of these toilets was vile. We had to take our own loo roll as often none! There were lots of compost loos, however the cleanliness of these loos was horrid. The loo roll and sawdust was topped up regularly by teams of summer workers, that was it. No other cleaning took place and often the 'cleaning' team did not wash their hands after!

8 showers for 200 plus pitches, most of the time these were freezing or the drainage not working!

The campsite is very expensive per night, based on the facilities on offer.

All in all we had a good weekend due to the company and food. Will be looking at other sites for the bank holiday weekend in 2018.

Came here last year and loved it. But I'm giving a one star for greed. We have popped in for 20min to meet up with family that are camping here before going to the pinetum.

We have been charged £2.50 pp so £5 for 20 min is a rip off.

Great campsite!....This is a campsite for everyone - the website pages cleverly judge what kind of break you're after and allocate you a field based on your answers - whether you're a large group or several family groups, a small family or want complete peace as a couple - there's space for everyone!...The woodland areas are wonderful for children to explore, the views are stunning all round and the fish and chips/pizzas on the Saturday alongside local bands is a lovely touch. Our favourite features are that the pitches are HUGE and you can have a real campfire....Loads of do in surrounding areas, Go Ape/Cycling tracks/local walks etc....definitely will return.

Had a lovely time camping for the weekend. The music from local performers in the Tepee tent on Saturday night was a lovely twist. mobile fish and chip and 2 pizza vans came on Saturday. So we all sat out listening to music enjoying a fish supper.
The facilities are OK, toilets and shower blocks clean, felt little next step up from camping in a farmers field.

User

Good value although shower blocks could be cleaner.

Really nice campsite for a weekend. Facilities are basic but all in good working order, staff were friendly and helpful. We didn't join in with the music that was on in the teepees but it looked like people were having fun and very kid friendly.

User

Excellent campsite. Shame its not open throughout all of the summer.

Less than an hour and a half from London but it felt like a million miles away
