Went for a meal last night with the family. Lovely food, great service and loved the little areas you can sit on your own while overlooking the river. Would definitely come back.

User

My boyfriend and I went out to dinner last night as was my Birthday I ordered 6oz Steak, Chips and Peas also a side of onion rings and my Boyfriend had a veggie burger with Sweet potato chips. The food was hot, and well presented and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We had pudding aswell and diet pepsi which finished off our meal.

The enviroment was clean, warm and light was good watching the girls rowing was nice to not be rushed. Definatly be going back.

User

Just had Mother’s Day lunch and it was fantastic. The staff were friendly, the food was great and would highly recommend trying out this beefeater. Thank you x

User

Absolutely lovely, booked online and requested a table out the way, as have 2 young person's with autism. Seated in a secluded area, very friendly and accomdating staff. Food was lovely, I enjoyed the chicken & chorizo pie! great choice of food on the menu. Thank you

User

Went there today for a get-together and the food was absolutely stunning! I loved the skinny fries as well as their lovely desserts, which is not to be missed! Highly recommended - 10/10!! :)

User

We were a group of 12 ...we were all looked after , & the waitress took time with our orders . The food was hot & nothing was too much trouble ... The children were happy , with their colouring book & pens ... Would we come again ? Most defiantly

User

Had a lovely meal yesterday for my birthday. We didn't have to wait too long for our food and it was worth waiting for. Dessert was yummy as well.

User

Came for my 50th, with my family and had nice meal, but wasnt very impressed with the toilets upstairs, pretty disgusting, not alot of room to move about in and they didnt flush very well x

User

very busy however booked for 2.30 pm queued at till from 2.15 to 2.45, then some guy tried to jump the queue, then it took 2 hours for our meal. Can't blame the waiting staff, Malta Inn just needs to employ more staff for periods like my visit.

User

Well second time I've brought friends here and again the service has not been good. I know it was nice last night.

But when I get served and only get half my drink order after I've paid as the Orson serving me had go and get food is not on and then have wait another 20mins get rest off order is not on. When I ask where she gone the bar manger said she gone upstairs to get food and won't be long I'm sorry is not good. Then get told caint have ice cream unless we have upstairs is a joke. It's only ice cream it was hot and sunny do we don't want be indoors.

Plus no tables got cleared while we where there.

Sorry don't think we be back as second time and we get bad service.

My meal was OK wife's meal was fish with crispy batter not a lot of fish. No kids menu's qued at bar for 15 minutes, to be told I need to be in another que. Then qued second time to be told we could not pick off of main menu because we were eating outside. Urinals were disgusting with a bucket under one urinal half full of piss. A disgrace, when Pat Henry run that place it was immaculate the service was also good in his era. Ladies toilets also a disgrace. Family of six disappointing. A birthday meal gone flat.

User

Kurt response from the bar lady pre 11am, two minutes past 11am and all was well. The young staff performed well. Shame about the toilets being out of action on a busy Saturday lunchtime. Food portions nowhere as pictured .

User

Food was ok but for the price I thought the portions were quite small. Shame as it is a nice environment in a pretty setting. Won’t be rushing back any time soon. Would go for a whetherspoons instead as quality similar but priced very differently.

User

Beautiful day so sat outside, menus were on the table so made our choice. It was busy so expected a bit of a delay. When placing order was told we could only have outside menu even though all menus were on table. Mine was on both so I was ok my partner ordered a beef burger but not the one on the outside menu apparently so had to have that one. WhT difference does it make what menu you use. Then our table was inputted incorrectly so our meal went to the wrong table, got it finally!! I had the vegetable linguine and at over £10 was not big enough or enough vegetables mainly hard green beans. G & T was good though!

User

The setting is beautiful...unfortunalety they think they have the monopoly.because of this you have to put up with staff shortages....and food that you would not usually accept and overworked under trained staff

User

Some of the staff were not particularly helpful. Food was good, big enough portion for us but I would expect some would say the portions were too small. Toilets abysmal. One set out of order so just three female toilets available and none of those would flush!

User

Ok, your gonna to a pub for a meal, not gonna be a Michelin star restaurant however you expect a few things, cleanliness, friendly staff, good standard of food, reasonable prices, reasonable service, did I get that today, on average not really, sitting next to the river, did you know you can only order from the garden menu, a choice of about 6 dishes, even one of them wasnt available, WHY! what possible difference from a mixed grill to a burger dish being served outside is beyond me, no staff seemed bothered happy to be there, moping around like their on community service. Seemed alot of bar staff but only two bothering to serve, drinks, reasonable variety, your lucky if you get a clean class thats not got dishwasher water stains though, flat pepsi, no fizz, food came out quicker than I thought however sides came out 5mins after mains, £3.49 for 4 onion rings that looked like deep fried mashed onion in batter, chips however best thing EVER, on a whole the pub in my opinion is shit, I base this on one thing, look at the staff, if they think its shit to work there, it must be, some people undoubtedly will love the venue, but for me rather have a sandwich from Tesco's......

User

Myself and family went here on Saturday for my Nan's birthday meal. We was happy with the food but not the service. My 2 year old son pulled chewed up chewing gum from under the table! Luckily I noticed before he put it into his mouth!! We told the manager and all he said was oh ok!! Surely the cleaning stuff should be checking under the tables for stuff like that!!

User

I am disabled and booked a table for 4 . On arrival after waiting 10 minutes to be booked in we were put on the second floor. This meant going up stairs then down 3 steps only to climb yet again more stairs. The meal was fine although service was very slow. On leaving I passed the toilets and decided to use the facilities, big mistake! The toilets were filthy and not disability friendly. I complained and was told if you had asked me I would have directed you to downstairs where there was a disabled toilet. I informed her there were no signs up for disabled customers and how could anyone go down 3 levels to get there. This restaurant is definitely NOT fit for disabled guests!

User

Beautiful setting but garden menu food was appalling. Did however get a full refund from a very pleasant and understanding manager. Definitely worth a visit for a few drinks but I do not recommend the food. There is another menu if eating inside so don't know if that would be better.

User

Where do I start? Massive queues for food then, prawn cocktail was defo off. Didn’t touch it. Steak came out alive I swear I could feel the heart beat. My son in laws chicken mixed grill

Was totally raw !!! My other son in law found plastic in his food. No one can to check on the table during any of the meal. No one can and cleared the tables we did that ourselves. We did complain got our money back My it was so bad. Plus it was a birthday meal. Never again !!!! Don’t go there. Unless you just want a drink.

User

Went to the Malta for my partners birthday today, shown to table quite quickly and ordered drinks and mains quickly too, but the wait for the mains to come was very long considering the restaurant wasn’t very busy. When the mains came out my onion rings were cold, my sister in law ordered a halloumi salad which was dreadful, there was about 3 bits of halloumi in the actual salad. My nephew ordered a kids meal but wanted to double it up and have extra nuggets when that came out he had 2 extra bits of chicken despite paying full price for another meal. No refills offered for drinks and had to wander round and find someone to order more drinks. Not much food for the price, slow service and not very hospitable. Also tried to charge us for extra drinks we didn’t have. Wouldn’t visit again prices too high for the kind of food they serve.

User

We've been quite a few times over the years and hope it's improved everytime with a different cheif but nooooo , me and my partner have sent our food back every time , never again , enough is enough

User

We have stayed at the premier inn for 14 years for the Kent Garden Show we were booked to eat there every night after the first night we had to venture out. The bar downstairs is ridiculous to have to queue for a drink. A guy walked passed me straight to the bar and get served...!!! The food I have to say was inedible and I didn’t the ribs were so dry you could have sharpened them to make steak knives. The chicken was grisly tasteless and generally horrible and the server never asked how our meal was lucky for them..Sorry to say the whole place needs to re brand and start again come on !!!!

User

Very nice setting and that’s about it, 45 mins to get a drink then had to que for food,so all in all not very good.

User

Truly awful. We booked the day before, but still had a 2 hour wait for our food to be served, despite having 3 small children and a diabetic in our party. Staff didn’t care, food was awful, prices disgusting for the rubbish you’re (eventually!) served. Never again. Steer clear!

User

They advertise a cheaper menu up to 6.30 pm. When you go to order they tell you it’s finished, this was at 6.20pm. I think that’s called false advertising.

User

Terrible for my 89 year old Mum who couldn’t do all the stairs. So many stairs. No lift. We could have gone into the bar and had ‘the small menu’. Cheek. Not told this when I booked on line. Asked about wheelchair users but told they also had to use bar with ‘the small menu’. In this day and age! Really! Should be reported

User

Stopped off here for a quick snack, we had the fish and chips, when it arrived the fish was very greasy and the chips looked like they were just scrap chips as all in tiny pieces covered in thick grease.

We had avoided this place for two years as the food was going down hill but even after all this time it’s still no better

User

Shocking! Turned up at 10am for breakfast on a Sunday (says its open till 10.30) but was turned away as said not doing any more breakfasts even though everything was still laid out! Clearly the staff or lady that spoke to us today couldn’t be bothered! Was driving home from a weekend away with two young children and thought looked like a nice place to visit. Very unhelpful when you are all hungry she did suggest we try the harvester down the road. Beefeater seriously think you need to train your staff in customer service skills! Or if you are only serving till 10 (not 10.30) as you advertise then maybe you need to state this on your website! What a disappointment!

User

Ross says it's the worst pub in the world!

Also no data signal, so I had to use their WiFi to post this review.

User

Restaurant is nice and clean... for me the waiters and waitresses we fine.

For me the problem is the kitchen, waited over 1 and 1/2 for lunch.

The worst part was my niece biting in to a RAW kids meal Burger! The spaghetti Bol potion was a little handful. The steak was like rubber.

Just don’t waste your money.

User

Poor service. Single file queue for bar, only two staff. Sat outside with my son, tables weren’t cleared - glasses and bottles everywhere. Limited bar menu - waited ages then it was rubbish!! Won’t eat here again. Such a beautiful setting - something needs to be. More staff for a start.

User

Nice setting shame the food is crap and the children serving don't give a shit . Talking of shit no paper in any toilet male or female one star is too much

User

If I could give it 0 or minus 10 I would! The food is absolutely disgusting, it’s smothered in oil! The gammon was more like a bit of fatty bacon. The chips were reheats. My partners ribs were disgusting. I would have taken a photo of it but quite frankly I don’t need to be reminded of what slop they served up. This place should come with a health ⚠️. You don’t sell fat coke but you put half a gallon of oil on my plate! I shall be advising everyone not to bother coming here.

User

I can’t even begin to know where to start ! Absolutely terrible ! Two hour wait on food ! All eight dishes had something wrong with them to being burnt or raw ! Drinks order was wrong ! Some food missing from the dishes ! Never again ! Poor service poor food poor management !

User

Go if you like to queue for 20 minutes to then be told you have the wrong menu because your downstairs. Recommend the river cruise though, but avoid the pub.

Email of complaint sent on Sunday, still awaiting a reply on Wednesday!!!!! Absolutely appalling

Good afternoon

On the back of the below complaint once again I tried to have another meal at the Malta inn .

My friend ordered the lobster and steak burger and I ordered a medium rare steak .

After sitting there for some time my friend and I noticed that there was a huge burger under the warming lights and another plate next to it .

After 10 mins this was bought over to our table where once again I had to complain .

My steak was cold .

After a while the manager come over to me and told me my steak had been probed and was at the correct temperature .

Everyone knows that a medium rare steak needs serving as soon as it’s off the grill not sat under a light for 10 minutes .

He then suggested that steak gets put back on the grill for a while , so now my dinner had sat around for 20mins.

Health and safety bells started ringing.

That was an appalling suggestion .

I was asked if I wanted something else but had actually gone out for a steak .

I ended up with no dinner and was extremely disappointed and to add insult to injury Mel the waitress was only interested in us paying the bill while I was trying to put this disgrace into Twitter .

Once you can forgive , twice is ridiculous .

Your staff and management need replacing as their customer service skills are appalling !!!!!

I have been tempted to call in health and safety as well as feel that there are practices in place that would defiantly be frowned at

The beer was warm and the lady on the next table sent her wine back 3 times .

Not exactly selling the brand at the Malta inn are they !

Very disappointed in the whole experience

Absolutely disgusted with the customer service at Malta Inn today, I came with my two children and my mum for lunch. We decided to have a drink outside beforehand as I was aware that there was a special (super expensive) menu for outside. So once we were ready headed inside and asked for the normal menu to be told that we would have to have the outside menu to sit downstairs inside, you can only have the normal menu if you are sitting upstairs. My son is 8 months old and in a pushchair and there are no lifts or ramps for us to push him upstairs, they gave us the option for members of staff to help carry the pushchair upstairs but if I’m honest I’m not going to trust anyone that I don’t know to carry my son up 15 stairs on a rounded staircase! I questioned what happens when they have disabled customers and the lady replied - that’s different, you just have a pushchair. I think it is absolutely ridiculous for that fact that if you sit downstairs you pay almost £13 for cod and chips however if sitting upstairs you can pay £5 for the exact same meal. I will tell as many people as I possibly can to avoid this beefeater, the staff were rude and I will definitely not be returning!!!!

I will tell as many people as I possibly can to avoid this beefeater, the staff were rude and I will definitely not be returning!!!!

User

User

User

User
