Disappointed....

Went to beefeater yesterday and the service was awful. The food was ok. We ordered a starter to share and then when it came out it was for one and then told they don't do it to share. When we asked the waitress before we ordered. I had to go to the bar to get a refill of coke because it was quicker then the service. We waited a hour and 5mins for our meal. The extra chips was brought to us after we had finished the meal. The table next to use hadn't been cleaned for the whole time we were there. And then we got to the bill they had a extra drink on it. So we had to ask to take tht off. So we won't be going bk in hurry. I think they should of told people when they arrived that they were short staff and longer waiting times as we heard 4 other people complained while we were there.

Would give 2.5 stars. Booked a table but was told the restaurant area was closed and that we would be sitting in the bar area. Luckily a senior staff member instructed the first staff member to give us a table. Having booked a table, it’s a no brainer right? Had barely sat down when we were moved to another table. Received shrunken scallops starter (one the usual size, two half size) and I suspect the chef had cut one into two. As a Premier Inn guest I paid for the meal deal but was disappointed to find you had run out of steaks. Don’t sell a product you can’t honour. The lamb main was good but overall not a good dining experience. We regularly eat at this chain and usually receive wonderful food and service. On this occasion you did not live up to expectations.

Went here with my wife and 2 grandchildren. Didn't book a table, but we were found a table in what appeared to be an overspill area - perhaps bar area whilst waiting for a table. We had to go to the bar to order, unlike what the 'restaurant' tables appeared to have to do. However we were charged the same restaurant price - £11 plus for Haddock, chips & peas seemed expensive to start with. Plus we had to get our knives, forks, condiments & sauces. The 'childrens' meal option stopped at age 11 (our grandchildren are 12) and there is no senior citizens option. Hence the portions were too large for us all. The meals themselves arrived in 30 minutes and were ok - if too large. In cost terms alone, we won't be visiting a Beefeater in the foreseeable future.

User

It’s a shame but this establishment has really gone downhill of late and we are regular customers here. Last visit we made we waited over 20 minutes for our order to be taken despite it not being busy and the roast dinner was almost inedible with dry over cooked roast potatoes and warmed up beef slices - asked for a reduction for not having pudding and got £1 off which, given the cost of their drinks is a joke ! Not somewhere we will be rushing back to again as there is plenty of alternative places to visit locally.

User

I went with my grandkids. Food good for the kids. But what about the adults. Too much of the same thing burgers steak or bbq chicken. Where is the pasta and lasagne lighter meals for adults. Will not go there again. Unless make the menu a bit like other pubs

User

Having just spent 2 night in Christchurch at Premier Inn I was hoping for equally superb service at Weymouth. Unfortunately they are no where near the level of service I expect from a Beefeater. Slow, uninterested staff are not what I’ve come to expect. Been here nearly an hour and still waiting for my main course. My choice of starter, which I had 2 nights ago and features in the menu in my Premier Inn room apparently is no longer on the menu here. They’re busy and don’t seem to have enough staff but that doesn’t help the customer. Come on Beefeater, sort it out.

User

Disappointing for Beefeater. Food and choice as good as ever but seemed understaffed for amount of people. Only seating at bar were high stools which are impossible for disabled people to sit on. Member of staff who greeted us seemed unable to understand concept of needing somewhere for disabled to sit whilst waiting to be shown to table.

Breakfast now served as a buffet - please go back to ordering freah as before! On asking for a barista made Costa coffee with my breakfast as I have done every time I have stayed at PI I was met with "No that's not included - just the coffee urns"

I polighty mentioned that this was served and included as part of my breakfast menu on every other visit to this establishment (since when it was a 'Pink Cow venue') I've had in the past - and this serving woman shouted in my face that...

"No not ever in her time there over the last 4 years has this ever been the case".

Then when son went to get his cooked breakfast items this woman took away the sausages and eggs... I guess for replenishment but think she did it just at that time to try and be intimidating.

I was more than happy to pay for this if extra but at that point felt very humiliated and couldn't understand why she had to argue with me in such a rude manner.

@Whitbread plc - You have lost a customer I'm afraid.

User

Went for breakfast due to lodmoor being fully booked, have been before but find lodmoor more child friendly, this time the food and service was poor and one of our party of twenty was treated like crap for commenting on the slow service, use the place regularly for evening meals, not no more, lost a lot of regular customers

User

We were told when we arrived that they had no fish at all so had to choose something else. Half an hour after ordering we were told there was no lasagne, one very disappointed daughter. My husband's medium steak was pretty much raw and was then told that they had run out of Doombar mid meal, one of the drinks didn't arrive until after we had finished! Poor waiting staff getting it in the neck from everyine as they didn't have anything! Really disappointed with the whole event, we used to come here quite a lot but won't be coming again in the future.

User

The staff seemed very harassed and were not very attentive, our order was wrong, our bill was wrong. Hubby and I had to work out for ourselves which steak was rare and which medium. The food was very greasy, the eggs totally inedible. I would steer clear if I were you

User

Rude sarcastic staff I can't be arsed to put my comment on here as you probably won't read it and it's waisting my time considering you didn't offer me anything off my bill or any customer care shocking!!!!!!

Called in for Sunday lunch at about 3pm, the guy on the front desk told us there were no seats left in the restaurant but we could have a choice of two tables in the bar area one near a disused hot plate and both by the main thoroughfare or anywhere else in the bar. I asked if we could sit at another 5 different tables and was told no as they were reserved. He didn't let at least 3 other small parties sit in the restaurant after we walked in either. Waited about 40 minutes for two meals that must have been Pre cooked (roast dinners)! My partner didn't want the beans or root mash, nothing extra was offered. He ordered an extra portion of roasts, Yorkshire and a jug of gravy. The extra portion consisted of 4 small pieces of potatoes and a small jug half filled of gravy. Funny how the portion of potatoes on his plate was three times the "extra" portion! When we left at 4pm the tables we were told were reserved were all still empty. Funny that. It seems a common theme amongst the other reviews on here and even funnier no one from beefeater has had the courtesy to respond to any of them! Had the same meals at ferndown and somerford and can't fault them at all. Steer clear of this place!

User

Arrived for breakfast at 10.05 this morning, when we were seated we asked for poached eggs which was fine, went up and got breakfast no beans or mushrooms were ready so went back up for beans. Still no mush rooms still no poached eggs. Asked again for eggs, eat all breakfast still no mushrooms or eggs when finished and was about to leave, mentioned to a waitress and was told sorry but the chief doesn't listen to what is asked for!!!!!!

User

We have been there twice this week food was very good customer service was excellent we will be returning when we are in the area again

User

Visited twice during our stay nearby I have got nothing but praise for the staff the cleanliness and the food shall certainly visit again when in the rea

User

Very busy last night, very understaffed! But...our waiter (wearing black, dark hair and a beard) made it super! He was helpful, attentive and great at his job! Thank you!

User

The food is amazing and the staff are very nice polite and friendly will definitely recommend ******

User

Our stay was lovely room nice our meal at night was good but unfortunately the staff had no patience at all not very friendly at all just wanted to rush all the time 😡😡😡😡
