The Mont Garni Golf Course, designed by Irish architect Tom Mc Auley, is sure to seduce you with its variety of landscapes, vast plans of water and peaceful atmosphere. The 18 holes course (one of the longest in Belgium), the Putting Green and Driving Range are harmoniously set in the heart of a 150 hectares tree planted estate. Last but not least is the “19th hole” – a vast English-Norman house clubhouse where players can meet, chat and relax.

Andenne will be hosting its famous “Carnaval des Ours” this Sunday. Bears? Legend has it that Charles Martel, raised here by his grandmother, killed a terrifying bear with his bare hands at the age of nine... Since then, the bear has been the proud symbol of the town.

Hundreds will join the parade, dressed in an ursine costume. Another sweet touch: the King and Queen of the Carnival conclude the festivities by throwing 250 teddies to the crowd from the Town Hall balcony.

Located in a meander of Eau Blanche River, five kilometres from Chimay, Lompret features pretty 18th and 19th century buildings. The varied landscapes of the region make it the perfect start for walk. One of them will bring you to the "Roman Camp" vantage point, on top of the anticline forcing a sharp curve of the river. Bring a picnic along…

The Spitfire Museum, set in the military air base of Florennes, lets you discover the airplanes that have marked its history since its creation in 1942. The galleries exhibit numerous aircraft. Its pride and joy is a beautifully restored Spitfire Mk XIV, which took 12,000 working hours to bring back to mint condition…

Belgian artist Jean-Michel Folon installed over 500 art works in the Ferme du Château de La Hulpe, just 20 minutes outside Brussels. This charming, characterful building set in the midst of the wonderful Parc Solvay exhibits watercolours, engravings, posters… Take a walk through the gardens, where sculptures generate a real dialogue with their poetic setting.

There are still a few days to see Lee Jeffries' exhibition at the Villers Abbey! The Mancunian artist, known for his black and white portraits, captured the touching story of homeless people and staged them beautifully through the impressive remains of the buildings.

Beautifully situated in lush greenery, Mirwart is one of these picturesque villages you simply can’t help falling in love with. Its impressive castle, old farms and sweet traditional houses appear unchanged: half-timbering, old stones and bricks are still the hallmarks of the architectural heritage…

Stavelot’s carnival, at the end of March, is famous for its Blancs Moussis, Pinocchio-like characters dressed in white…
Wondering what the story is? For centuries the city had been ruled by a prince-abbot, who decided to stop his clerics from taking part in the festivities. The inhabitants created a white costume with a hood referring to the monastic habit, to which they added a white mask with a very long, red and pointed nose thus disguising their identity.
Over 600 join ...every year, together with colourful folkloric groups and marching bands. Be prepared for a real confetti storm!

On the 4th of January 1945, the 17th Airborne Division entered the Battle of the Bulge and attacked towards Flamièrge from Mande Saint Etienne and Houmont. The ridge near Flamièrge was later renamed "Dead Man's Ridge" by the men of the division. The 17th Airborne helped free many hamlets from Nazi occupation within the area of Saint-Ode, Bertogne, Houffalize and beyond. The division lost more than 3,000 men.
Yesterday (Sunday 17th of March), the non-profit association 101st A...irborne Belgian Friendly organised its 11th walk to honour these men. The entirety of the benefits will be used to finance the trip back to Belgium of a few veterans for the 75th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge.
The march, this time, had a special guest: Philippe Jarbinet, Belgian author of the comics "Airborne 44" series, depicting the story of US Airborne troops that fought in Europe.
We could not help but share a few pictures of the event - many thanks (c) Michel Wynants for sharing them:

In Western Wallonia, nearest to the Channel ports, the Royal Golf Club du Hainaut lies next to the Erbisoeul woodlands. Two of its three 9-hole circuits were designed in 1933, threading a path between tall stands of trees. A third 9-hole course was added more recently to accommodate the bigger hitters of modern times. Its charming, thatched clubhouse is an added delight…

Nestled in the green hills of the Condroz region is the sweet village of Mozet. Its limestone houses, impressive farms and listed Romanesque tower gives him a medieval charm still.

The citadel of Namur holds many secrets… The most unexpected one is the Parfumes Delforge - Atelier de Parfumerie perfume boutique. Nestled in the former officers’ mess Stop by, join a visit! You will learn how a fragrance is composed, best worn and visit the underground galleries where the creations are matured. Our favourite creation is their Fraise one, made from local Wépion strawberries.
