Yesterday there was problems with groupon and booking tables online. I had to phone the lady called Sarah at Bella Italia at the barbican Plymouth four times, she was great and in the end said she would leave a message for the evening team for money off. When we arrived a young man was on the meet and great and said no I couldn't do it I didn't have a table. I explained about Sarah and one of the bar staff saved the day saying she was here when it all happened. We had a table, money off and free drinks. We couldn't of asked for a better evening the staff and food were amazing, thank you xxx

We visited Bella Italia Plymouth twice last week, to and from our holiday.



We have dietary requirements (2 coeliacs) and we couldn't have had a nicer meal.

We always choose Bella Italia over the other well known Italian chains as we love the GF options and this location didn't disappoint.



We were so lucky to have the same waiter twice and I am ashamed to say I don't even know his name. He was very knowledgable about what we needed and fantastic with the children.

I booked my daughter a pizza making party here for her and 9 of her friends and honestly it was amazing!! They all got to make their own pizzas from scratch and also got to choose their own ice cream. The children were always entertained and the staff were absolutely brilliant with all of them!!

I would 100% recommend having your child's birthday parties here for something a bit different and great value for money ļæ½ plus as a parent I just got to sit there and relax with a coffee!!

Had a nice meal eventually, husbands food was great but unfortunately the steak i ordered medium rare came out blue, it was dealt with by our waiter really efficiently and before i knew it i had a lovely perfectly cooked steak in front of me, they didnt get it right first time but they dealt with it brilliantly the manager and waiter were a credit to the restaurant!! We will be back šŸ˜Š

We came in on a busy Saturday lunchtime without a reservation but were found a seat. Service was friendly but slow and we did have to chase the waiting staff a couple of times as theyā€™d gone off to get things (ketchup/more drinks) but would then not come with it. I appreciate it was very busy and Iā€™ve waitressed before so I do get it. Food was good but I canā€™t give this more than average on this occasion, nothing outstanding and lots of room for improvement but wasnā€™t terrible.

Donā€™t know what the issue was at Bella this evening but unfortunately service was very slow to the point where all we heard around us was irate customers/people walking out before getting there food and people being turned away.



The staff did an amazing job keeping there cool. Food was delicious!



My main bad point was one member of staff (possibly boss lady) constantly shouting/talking loudly to the staff in front of customers which really put everyone off as you canā€™t help but over hear!



Credit to the rest of the staff though. X

Really disappointing lunchtime service. I finished my starter but my daughter hadnā€™t. They went to take her plate away and I had to say she hadnā€™t finished it! Mains - spaghetti carbonara for my daughter, turned up as spaghetti Bolognese, sent back, arrived as tagliatelle carbonara and so salty she couldnā€™t eat it. This was our treat before the cinema. However, the disappointment was handled very well with my daughters meal wiped from the bill. The 2* is for the food but I give the duty manager 5* in the way she handled it.

Not enough staff on today, my pasta dish was Luke warm got it taken bk still didn't come out warmer. Presentation needed to worked on. My friends meals weren't any better. There burgers were cremated and u cud chip a tooth eating that burger. So again sent bk. Waiting for half an hour or so for a meal. The smell of it and the taste was horrible. Once the waiter came over I explained about it and he informed me that it was a fresh ā€˜bag of duckā€™ which made it clear it wasnā€™t fresh. I was offered to pick something else but I decided not too. The other dishes the girls had too was very plain and not appetising. We left disappointed ļæ½

We went for what was a birthday meal for my son before going to the cinema. Service was ok! When food came out we thought looks good!!! My husband had the chicken burger they offer and whilst eating it we found it was not cooked chicken was raw!! But he had already eaten half of the burger before we noticed! Donā€™t get me wrong they didnā€™t charge us for any of our meals but how could you continue eating after that!!! And who would pay for raw uncooked food!!!!!They took my husbands details in case he falls ill!! Well I sure as hell hope he doesnā€™t! First and last visit to this restaurant!!!

Waitress messed up our order but we waited an hour for food for mains to come out and no starters. Kids were left for ages with no main and adults all served. They were starving and their starters came out the same time as their mains. I was fuming and asked the waitress where the kids food was as they were starving and upset. Service was soo incredibly slow. We were never asked how our meals were. Late to be seated despite booking. The main courses were a disappointment, one friend had a burger which looked like a child's size, one friend had pizza which wasn't even cut up and we only had basic cutlery on the table which struggled to cut through it, and I had a pasta dish which was barely warm. When we finished our meals, the plates were not cleared in a timely manner and by this point an hour had passed since we originally arrived, this was how slow the service was. We waited and waited for the plates to be cleared, we even stacked them as we got fed up of sitting with them in front of us. When we finally got someone's attention to clear them I managed to ask for the desert menu. Despite being emailed advertising the tirimasu and a table pamphlet advertising the tirimasu on every table, I was incredibly disappointed to find the tirimasu was unavailable to to an ingredient manufacturer issue. We then waited for someone to ask if we wanted desert, again to a non existent service. We finally gave up and went to leave to expecting someone to come running after us as we had not yet paid. No one even noticed. We had to hang around the door like new customers for someone to come over and ask if we'd like any help, they weren't even aware that we were a leaving customer. Anyways, we all left massively disappointed and doubt we shall be returning any time soon.

Then after all that hassle we decided to have a dessert but when we were ready to order we didn't get the chance to have dessert as we just got handed the bill.

Just left Bella Italia in the vue complex and we are so disappointed! The staff were so rude and didn't even clear our plates after we had been finished for nearly 30 minutes! Not once were we asked how our food was or even looked at actually! It took a lot for us to come out today as we brought our 2 girls and their 9 day old sister so as you could imagine we were very excited to be getting out with the new baby and to receive the service we did was a massive disappointment! We have always loved coming to Bella Italia as me and my partner had our very first date here and have be returning customers for many years but we defiantly will not be returning again. The rudeness of all the staff on lunch time today should be very disappointed as me and my family are for ruining our first outing with our new baby! As stated before we will not be returning again.

We waited half an hour for our main meal plates to be cleared (only because I asked if we could order a dessert only to wait another 20 minutes without receiving it! We only ordered a child's choc brownie! By this point we had had enough and after paying for a child's 3 course meal we ended up leaving without receiving the pudding! My daughter was not happy by this but after waiting for so long and having other places to be we had no choice! I had asked about 3 times for her dessert to be told they'd check but never did! The food was nice that we did receive but we shall not be recommending this place due to the terrible waiting times

We went for what was a birthday meal for my son before going to the cinema. Service was ok! When food came out we thought looks good!!! My husband had the chicken burger they offer and whilst eating it we found it was not cooked chicken was raw!! But he had already eaten half of the burger before we noticed! Donā€™t get me wrong they didnā€™t charge us for any of our meals but how could you continue eating after that!!! And who would pay for raw uncooked food!!!!!They took my husbands details in case he falls ill!! Well I sure as hell hope he doesnā€™t! First and last visit to this restaurant!!!

Waitress messed up our order but we waited an hour for food for mains to come out and no starters. Kids were left for ages with no main and adults all served. They were starving and their starters came out the same time as their mains. I was fuming and asked the waitress where the kids food was as they were starving and upset. Food was nice but the service was awful. We did get an apology but I think the manager could have supported the waitress much more than she did. It was my daughters birthday as well. I was very reluctant to come back to Bella Italia due to previous appalling service, needless to say I will not be returning again.

Service was soo incredibly slow. We were never asked how our meals were. Late to be seated despite booking. The main courses were a disappointment, one friend had a burger which looked like a child's size, one friend had pizza which wasn't even cut up and we only had basic cutlery on the table which struggled to cut through it, and I had a pasta dish which was barely warm. When we finished our meals, the plates were not cleared in a timely manner and by this point an hour had passed since we originally arrived, this was how slow the service was. We waited and waited for the plates to be cleared, we even stacked them as we got fed up of sitting with them in front of us. When we finally got someone's attention to clear them I managed to ask for the desert menu. Despite being emailed advertising the tirimasu and a table pamphlet advertising the tirimasu on every table, I was incredibly disappointed to find the tirimasu was unavailable to to an ingredient manufacturer issue. We then waited for someone to ask if we wanted desert, again to a non existent service. We finally gave up and went to leave to expecting someone to come running after us as we had not yet paid. No one even noticed. We had to hang around the door like new customers for someone to come over and ask if we'd like any help, they weren't even aware that we were a leaving customer. Anyways, we all left massively disappointed and doubt we shall be returning any time soon.

Ordered garlic bread with main meal didn't turn up then 15 minutes after we finished the main meal and plates had gone the garlic bread turns up. Then after all that hassle we decided to have a dessert but when we were ready to order we didn't get the chance to have dessert as we just got handed the bill.

Just left Bella Italia in the vue complex and we are so disappointed! The staff were so rude and didn't even clear our plates after we had been finished for nearly 30 minutes! Not once were we asked how our food was or even looked at actually! It took a lot for us to come out today as we brought our 2 girls and their 9 day old sister so as you could imagine we were very excited to be getting out with the new baby and to receive the service we did was a massive disappointment! We have always loved coming to Bella Italia as me and my partner had our very first date here and have be returning customers for many years but we defiantly will not be returning again. The rudeness of all the staff on lunch time today should be very disappointed as me and my family are for ruining our first outing with our new baby! As stated before we will not be returning again.

DISGUSTING!

Tables not ready when already booked.

Glass on the floor, Furry French fries at the back of seats, waited 20 mins for a high chair and had to be reminded.

Extremely Long wait on drinks.

Food far to hot for the children and bland and dry on main menu.

Usually one of my favourite restaurants but it has certainly gone down hill.

Although the service was friendly (when we received it) I will not be coming again!! We waited half an hour for our main meal plates to be cleared (only because I asked if we could order a dessert only to wait another 20 minutes without receiving it! We only ordered a child's choc brownie! By this point we had had enough and after paying for a child's 3 course meal we ended up leaving without receiving the pudding! My daughter was not happy by this but after waiting for so long and having other places to be we had no choice! I had asked about 3 times for her dessert to be told they'd check but never did! The food was nice that we did receive but we shall not be recommending this place due to the terrible waiting times
