Bellacare Description

I have a BSc Psychology degree. I have worked with older adults, adults with mental health issues, older adults living with Dementia. I have also completed the following training: First Aid, Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults, Learning Disabilities in Mental Health, Level 2 Food Hygiene, Infection Prevention & Management, Dementia Champion Training.

I am very passionate about providing a personalised service that will support you as an individual. I aim to provide support, respect, dignity, and independence.

I am a voluntary Dementia Champion with the Alzheimer's Society and deliver Dementia awareness sessions in my community.

I live in Wigan and I am offering the following services in the Standish and Shevington areas: Companionship, Help around the house, Shopping Services, Trips out.

Unlike other care providers there will not be a different person visiting you each day, it will just be me. I hope to build up a trusting supportive relationship and look forward to hearing from you.

Something productive you and your family members can do whilst in self isolation. Please share ♥️
How great would it be, for those living with Dementia and their families, to know that they live in a Dementia friendly community?
How great would it be if local businesses and members of the community had an understanding of what Dementia is and how they could assist someone they meet living with Dementia?
... Well you could. Sign up to a FREE ONLINE Dementia Friends information session.
I am conducting these sessions in Shevington and surrounding areas and other Dementia Champions are doing the same thing all over the UK. You can also receive the same session ONLINE.

There is a special connection between music and memory.
Music has the ability to evoke memories in a way that words cannot, especially for those living with dementia.
Look at this wonderful music memory box.

This is a very important statement.
We should always see the individual before we see their dementia.

Living and WORKING with dementia.
As the number of younger people living with dementia increases we need to have an open conversation about how inclusive we are as a society.
Just because somebody has dementia does not mean they become redundant.
... Have a look at a pop up restaurant that aimed to challenge perceptions of dementia. The restaurant in Bristol was run by staff all living with dementia.
Would you eat there?
