The time has come to say a very sad goodbye and hopefully to see you all very soon.
My last day was the end of October (sorry very belated message), this was exactly six years and one week after the day I stared at Belle. I followed my brother over from New Zealand to begin my O.E (overseas experience) never imagining staying in the U.K. almost seven years, let a lone staying in one job for so long. Belle was meant to be a stepping stone whilst I continued looking for perman...ent work more specific to my degree. However, I very quickly fell in love with this little independent cafe nestled in the heart of Earlsfield. At the time it was the only independent cafe in the area. Along with the love I felt for Belle, was the love of the very unique community spirit of Earlsfield. I have tried to leave twice, unsuccessfully, over the years, however, although hard at times, it has been this love for the community and cafe that has always pulled me back in.
Like how you have seen me changed from my partying ways, to meeting Blake, becoming engaged, buying a flat and now entering a new stage of our lives, I too have seen you go through, engagements, hens and stags, weddings, pregnancies and having your beautiful children. Some of which are onto their third child.
I have made life long friends from my time at Belle. Staff and customers. A very special thank you to my two bosses, Jeannine and Liam, and of late Julie and Hamish. Both of which I know are life long friends. Thank you for allowing me time to travel, being great supportive bosses and from the bottom of my heart thank you on a personal level for everything you have done for Blake and me. I hope one day we can give you the generosity you have shown us.
I am very happy to hear that we (us old timers) have passed on the touch and close bond of Belle staff. I hear the new group is also representing themselves on a Friday night at the Wandle!
All the best to Vera and the team, I am looking forward to seeing your own influence and ideas shine.
I am sorry I didn't get to say goodbye to everyone. I will be sending photos, however, happy for you to also add me on Facebook.
We will be back one day soon. Please look me up if you make the journey to NZ. Thank you for everything, Belle and Earlsfield will always hold a very special place in my heart, and is a part of my life I am very proud of.

... THANK YOU for your incredible ongoing support at the cafe over the past few years!! We have sincerely LOVED serving such an epic local community in EARLSFIELD, getting to know so many of you and your children and making it such a happy, family friendly, buzzing spot to coffice, hang out with friends, drink good coffee and eat honest food. We have handed the reigns over to a fresh new pair of hands as of today, 1st September!
VERA- we wish you and your team the Greatest Success as you run ahead with Belle.
A special shout out to someone very special. KARIN You have been with us since Day 1. Your loyal devotion along this journey with us has been incredible and highly commendable, you have been an integral part of the journey and have been a key player in helping us make Belle what all it is today. No words will express enough our gratitude to you for all you have done. We want to thank you for your commitment and dedication, loyalty, extremely hard work, your mutual passion and love for the cafe and the vision. THANK YOU KARIN!!!
