We were honoured to be invited down to London Cocktail Week earlier this week as one of the Norths most exciting bars, to tell our stories and share our cocktails. When you visit Below Stairs you will always be greeted by a welcome cocktail. In recognition of @leedsbeerweek18 this weekend our welcome serve will be a combination of Tepache (fermented pineapple) beer, Rhubarb aperitif, pink peppercorn Bitters and @roeandcowhiskey Irish whisky. We've loved the first couple days of #LeedsBeerWeek 2018 #lbw18. . As well as some delicious beers from @ridgesidebrewery and @saltairebrewery we've put together a cracking Hop-Tail menu. . This little number is the Fubarb Crumble. To a base of #ridgesidebrewery Fubarb - Rhubarb and Custard Sour, we add a little spiced gin, and a mix of ingredients to replicate the flavour of pasty. We're super proud to have this fella Mr Dan 'The Knowledge' Smithson on our bar team at Below Stairs. . And industry veteran of 20 years, a couple weeks ago he made it to the finals of the @haymansgin True Taste Cocktail Competition. Competing against some of the finest bartenders across the country he narrowly missed out on the top spot by less than 1% in the scoring. . We can testify though that the drinks he made we're delicious and we'll be launching his 2 competition co...cktails on our new menu. . We're not from Leeds so stumbled upon this little cocktail bar purely by chance and what a surprise it was.



Upon entry we were seated and given a complimentary sample drink 'bartenders handshake' alongside a glass of iced water and a thorough introduction by a friendly staff member. The drinks menu is themed with corresponding decorations around the bar which was a nice touch.



The drinks themselves we're exceptional. Really well thought out and flavoured cocktails. Unsure of the themed menu my partner requested a cocktail made to her taste and was not disappointed, receiving 2 off menu drinks tailored to her preferences.



As far as cocktail bars go this is certainly one of the best I have been to. Attention to detail and customer service is fantastic, in addition to excellent cocktails!!

Our first visit to this recently opened cocktail bar. A lovely relaxed sophisticated candle lit atmosphere with some really unique offerings on the menu. I secretly hope this place doesn’t become too discovered and maintains its hidden charm. Very attentive knowledgeable staff too
